It's not "enough", it's actually better. A grid is only useful if the items you place in/on the grid match the grid in size. But the shelves/fridges/freezers don't even match each other's size, so a grid would likely be horrible after all. There's a mod, Furniture Snap, that nicely illustrates this.
i spend a lot of time in fallout 4's settlement system. while the parts provided by bethesda are horribly inconsistent in snap points, some of modders have demonstrated that well considered snap points can make life *vastly* easier.
i do hope we get something like that. (i also hope it will be possible to override it when desired, because sometimes, you really do want that gap)
Normaly shelfs dont even go through walls.
Yeah, like press shift or something to unlock.
