How much stock do ya'll keep on hand?
I've been ordering 4 boxes of stuff at a time when I run out, but I feel like maybe I keep too much stock?

How much do ya'll usually keep of each product?

really depends on your level, how many licenses you have unlocked, are you using mods? etc.

I haven't tried using mods yet, so currently I use the storage room. Each shelf in storage has 8 slots to put items so currently, at level 25, I have one spot for each product on each shelf. And then I just stock and keep that full. (Some products with smaller boxes like salt, you can stack 9+ boxes in one spot, others like bread you can only stock 2). And then for the stuff that can only have a single box stocked, I give those multiple slots to fill.

I likely have 20+ boxes in my storage, but keeping so much inventory helps to not have to order hundreds of boxes at once at a time/no risk of running out during the day.

I just try to keep my shelves full. If something got empty, I buy enough to fill it and to fill a full slot in the rack. There are products that take a full slot, so I just buy five or six of those and give those products a full shelf so there is no way to run out of it before I notice and restock it.

On larger boxes I keep 8 (Bleach, chicken, flour, cereal etc., )medium 12 ( oils, cheese, honey etc.,) small boxes 30, (salt, butter, etc.) Problem with this is overcrowding in storage room and spending the entire day moving boxes from the sidewalk to storage when space becomes available. The game seems to penalize you for trying to have large amounts of stock but without it you are constantly clicking the order screen.

lvl 67 here let me try to explain how i stock up. I have all licenses up to that point.

Toilet paper, potatoes and chicken i have 4 slots for each in the store so basically 2 boxes on the shelves or in the freezer for these. In the stock room i have 4 boxes of each before i open the store. These are the only ones i have more then 2 slots in the store everything else is 2 slots/shelves. stocker's keep up really well during business hours as you don't have tons of overstock in the store.
In the stock room i try to keep at least 2 boxes of everything else in there or at least 20 of an item before i open up for the day. I never get complaints of cant find this or that so it works really well for me.

When you say you have 4 slots in the store, what do you mean? Like, 4 "shelves" or 4 full shelf racks?

I typically have 4 shelves for each product I have, and then I try to keep a minimum of boxes of each product in my back room.

Am I keeping too much product?

Oh sorry let me clarify 4 slots would be half a shelf which has 8 slots.

Depends on the prices.
If it goes down on a specific product im buying the full 10 packs.

Otherwise.
If a shelf is full and i have 3 pieces left on stock, its fine for me atm.

With things like meat for example, There is plenty of it in one pack, so im allways ordering only a pack if im running out.

So it also depends on how many pieces the pack contains.

I'm only level 36 here but here's how i do it.

I tend to keep what sells best or most money and use the stock room for lesser shelved items. I.E. Only 1 shelf of white box rice as it's not as much profit as other things. I keep a couple boxes of that in the storage in case they want to buy a bunch that day. Other things like Steak , and similar things I only keep what is on the shelf and buy where it's nearly out due to the cost and amount they take to recoup the buying cost to profit. I've gotten (thanks to many many loans and finally paying them off lol ) where i can finally start to stock mostly in the back room over the shelves. As i said I took lots of loans to get new lisenses and expansions, shelves etc, which was very worth it. As long as you're not losing money on the stocking shelves you're doing good. Takes money to make money as they say haha. I'm just excited to hopefully get auto stalking from road and maybe something to oversee what happened over the day. I.E. Items sold vs what was stocked, prices etc. Some sort of tablet or something maybe to keep track of details, then upload to the desktop for orders.
