I can only answer for myself.

Because it's a chill game. It's frantic every day at 8Am when it's time to restock, pop on some tunes and get at it. Then the rest of the day is just chill, keep those tunes going and just enjoy. Or walk away and get household things done (once you have cashiers).

For me personally, its kinda relaxing. I dont have people killing me or trying to steal my stuff. I can just pass time peacefully. I put on some music at a low volume and just relax.

It's fun and it's helping keep my brain training a bit with counting how much cash to give back in change, keeping track of stock and such. I'm enjoying just chilling and playing this with music going on. There's no rush while doing your morning re-stock of the shelves and buying inventory as the day's clock doesn't start passing until you open shop.

Well I do question the "no bugs" part as this game does have some, but they are quirky and not really game breaking - so far.

Because it goes to show that even if you put in millions of dollars into a game, spend thousands of thousands on marketing... people would rather play a casual shop simulator than some micro-transaction filled buggy mess that needs a huge day one patch just to get it at a somewhat playable state... I mean... just a guess.
