I am impatient and nervous to know when it will be available and all the new features.
The journey is the destination. If it takes me an hour to set up the store - perfectly - prior to opening, then that's fine.
No, If there is enough stock taken from the store shelf a restocker will take whatever quantity You have on the storage shelf and restock the store, they are a bit bugged to where they do not fill every item completely on the store shelf, like SuSu Brown sugar.. they leave 2 spaces empty on my shelf, which is fine for me, I add them if I feel like it, and other items they fill all the way
First, the Cashiers are very slow, scanning one Item per Second and cause long Lines at the Register, while the Player is able to do that in a few Seconds with Mouseclick Spamming.
Then the Restockers, who can't sort in new Stuff, so the Player need to sort in the Products for the Restockers.
Here also is the Problem how the Shelfes are made.
Shelfes in the Storage use an "last in, first out" system, so you need to take out the first box from the shelf and put it aside, fill the shelf and put it back in to prevent a Shelf full of half filled Boxes.
The Restockers also work inefficient by restocking every time one item is missing, instead of waiting forenough space to empty a complete box in a Shop Shelf.
So usualy I do one of the Registers to prevent full Registers, even the NPC Customers always go to the Cashiers first and only use my Register if theres no Space left.
The Restockers I have fired after a while in my Storage, who has cost me 12.000 Money for 42 Products, because to have a Shelf Storage need the double amount of time as in my usual system, where I have one box of each Product in my Storage on the Floor.
I have made a Guide for my way of Sorting:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3197883282
So I do the storage practical like a car factory with delivery on demand.
I have one shelf/fridge/freezer per product, exept the oversized potatoes, bleach and toiletpaper, who have two, what are usual enough to do a day without running out of products.
this just feel like it, but practical it need more time as long the ai not restock the storage as well.
You need to pickup a box from the street, then find the shelf, put out the used box of the restockers and put the new box in, then put back the removed box.
thats needed to prevent a storage full of half empty boxes.
I have test the times with my Smartphone Stopwatch, how long it need.
it was about 9-10 minutes from the opening of the shop until the last customer leave.
about 25 minutes to manualy restock the store with my System and over 40 minutes to use a storage with shelfes and restockers.
You still need to order the boxes, adjust prices, listen to customer complaints and address them, plan expansions and work on adding the new furniture and initial stocks, etc
The stuff that has to do with the managing
My last job, prior to retirement, was to manage a MASSIVE XPO Logistics warehouse. I had 77 dock doors, and 240 employees. I had my own golf cart to get around the facility. I enjoyed the planning and effort required to keep everything running smoothly.
Edit to add..I had 22 people in inventory control, including a manager, JUST to keep track of product, in and out.
For that 9 workers (included the PC) are many Employees.
Here in Germany, a Store with such a Size has usual 3-4 Workers included the Store Manager.
Just in the Game the Clerks at the Registers are no real NPC, they are more part of the Register Model, like a industrial Robot (thats why you can move them with the Employee standing inside).
Practical you just have a max of 4 Employee, who are just able to restock, the remaining Work is the Job of the Store Manager (the PC).
My store is now on I think it was Level 38 and the last License was the one with the 2. Brand of Water and the Boxes of 10 Eggs and I never have a sold out Product with no Restocker and 3 Registers, where I work in one of them.
Just the Money I get is a bit low with about 1500 per Day.
I would add more Products, but I need to buy this much to small 4x4m Parts first to have enough space for another double Row of Shelfes.
Actual I add 30 cent on top of the displayed Shop Price and remove the 2. Digit in the Cents, but maybe I need to made it on the Store Price or lower to made more sales, not sure.
