Taking away the only thing we Do?
I have to laugh at this thought and had to post it.
Everyone wants a stock person update and sure it would be nice but then what? Many people already say this is more of a stocking game then supermarket and the update will take that away! Now we will be left with an ordering game and people will say something about that and we're left with a game we flip the open/close sign. I think this game needs a little more meat on the bones before we start picking, lol.

If you have a big store and it takes 1hr to restock.. cut back on your items that you sell... specialise if you will. From other games we are brainwashed into thinking bigger is better.. but this is early access right now.. whilst we can go bigger.. we do not have the tools in place to manage that size... it will come just this project I feel is way too big for one person.

I think he got his inspiration from 'Big Ambitions'.

but all that said.. if we have restockers.. then make them slow as hell so that it encourages the player to help out during busy times... If you stock 40 products.. lets assign what a restocker restocks (1/2) and the player does the rest keeping simulation still part of the game.

In my eyes cashiers could be improved with a simple open close button on our cash register allowing us to close if helping restockers/ordering etc.. or open to push through the customers when it gets busy... but for the restocker, there needs to be some limitation in place or the game needs to be renamed to Supermarket Automation and players are refunded for not getting what they paid for.. A SIMULATION
I don't understand why there are restrictions on replenishment personnel. Make no mistake, being a replenisher is not mandatory. If you don't think it's necessary, just don't hire a replacement person until the end. Only those who want to hire a large number of replenishment staff and automate the process should do so.

Since some people say it's necessary, I think the feature itself can be implemented without any restrictions, and it's up to the player to decide how to use it. I don't think the important thing is whether or not the term "replenishment staff" itself will be implemented, and not whether it is necessary or not.

Even if you don't need it, there is someone out there who does. Just like not everything in the world needs you. If there are restrictions, I think you should put restrictions on how you play this game (lol).

I'll just refer to my first paragraph for this as you obviously prefer full automation even though it's slayed as a simulation game.

But your right.. I won't be silly enough to go all in with everything just to click a button... I cant think of a bigger waste of money.. may as well buy a blu-ray movie instead.

I will only do as I have done and create smaller specialised stores with only a certain number of items that allow me to play rather than watch...

Also if there are peeps out there that need this option.. then obviously they don't understand what the word simulation means.. and they purchased the wrong type of game.

but to each their own.. I still say there needs to be some kind of restriction as do a couple of others posted before me.

so why not delete cashier so we can have more content ! bro its ridiculous ,a content who take lot of time don't mean he is good. even without the restock , we still manage our buisness, buy thing for the restock , buy new thing , order the shop ,etc with future update. this task is just boring and make people unable people to play this game more than 2 hours/ day
beebopper Mar 13, 2024 @ 10:08am
Then why did you buy the SIMULATOR? if you automate everything then you will experience the definition of boring, Then whats next? Automate the ordering? Automate checking products that have expired? maybe Automate a cleaning service? etc.. etc..

You say this task it boring as hell... ok then i guess MMO's are just plain boring with gathering or grinding items,, building games must be boring also for this reason.. hell lets spice the game up a little.. the current craze seems to add zombies.. we could add a new type of zombie shopper! lol

I'm not saying do not introduce this service.. just limit what is automated to give the best of both worlds and still keep the simulation side of things in line with the premise of the game.

Lets hope the dev doesn't bow to this and destroy the game by making fully automated restockers / cashiers etc.. still leave every Supermarket option in the game for the player as it should be in a simulator.

PS: We shouldn't even be selling cold items like meats / fish / yogurts etc as there are no provisions for a cold room (storage).. so in essence we are poisoning our customers.. lol

No problem. They won't even get food poisoning if they sell it in such conditions. They are immortal.

Yeah but Gas Station Simulator doesn't have this many products. Re-stocking each day is super time consuming, to the point it makes the game boring. When the new stuff comes out, that for me will be the thing I wanna focus on. Being creative, decorating and arranging the shop, etc etc.

Everyone has their way of playing, but for the fact so many are calling for a stocker goes to show that many consider it a problem. You can always choose not to use a stocker if you like that role. For me, I like the checkout role, so I want to keep one open and play that role, but I can't if I need to stock throughout the day. Currently I fully restock in the morning so don't need to stock throughout the day, but it's still super time consuming and boring for me.

That’s the thing buying more products is a players choice. And the majority who complain about stocking are the ones who continue to buy new license as they are unlocked. Meaning they choose to overwhelm themselves with stocking. Plus If you manage a store right you can buy and stock before opening and do cashier the rest the day. You shouldn’t need to stock doing opening unless it’s the huge items.
This is all from players choice. I chose not to keep buying license so I’m able to manage my store and still make lots of money. Either play smart or not. That’s just how it is sadly. And no one wants to restart the game cuz of their mistakes cuz no one wants to lose there level.

But the game is called SUPERMARKET Simulator, not LITTLE CORNER STORE THAT SELLS BREAD AND MILK Simulator lol. Speaking for myself, I buy all the licenses as I want to make a Supermarket, huge in size, lots of staff, lots of money, etc. So having staff that stock shelves and being able to hire large numbers of them should be included in the game. Additionally, more than 4 cashiers. I should be able to make a huge supermarket, that's what I expect.

The good thing about having the capability is that those that want to scale can scale. Those that want to run a small corner store selling only a handful of items can also do that. It's about making the game, the simulation, free for the player to choose how big they want to get, how they want to play, what they want to do etc.

I've never started a business and said to myself, I want this to stay as small as possible and I want to do the work myself all day by myself, lmao.

Just a little background from someone who managed 30 staff in Logistics (backroom) for a large chain store..

8pm:
Night shift begins
Set up roller tables to begin unloading trucks/s.
2 peeps per truck to unload.
2 peeps working the pellets.. exchanging full pellets for empty pellets by taking the full pellets out on the sales floor.
2 peeps would then start to restock the shelves.. later joined by those from those unloading the truck/s when finished.

9pm - 9.30pm
All restocking shelves and now 4 peeps starting to take excess stores into the back room to be scanned and entered into inventory by 2 peeps to get the ball rolling.

12am (midnight)
Peeps join the staff entering the inventory in the back room (upward of 30 pellets whilst 4 peeps finished off restocking and recording damaged items through either delivery or accidental damage (cough) by team members.

3am

Inventory is expected to be completed in both dry good and frozen goods and should now be winding down along with completing any reports for the day shift.

4am
Night shift finishes.

7am
Day shift start and prepares for shop opening at 8am.

8am
Shop opens and the cashiers start processing customers.. sales staff start to promote its items to customers in store.

10am
Auto restock notification
1x Restocker then begins to restock shelves according to the notification

1pm
Auto restock notification
1x Restocker then begins to restock shelves according to the notification

3.30pm
change over to 2nd day shift

4pm
1st day shift finishes and 2nd day shift swing into high gear.
2nd day shift was shorter hours (6)
Auto restock notification
1x Restocker then begins to restock shelves according to the notification

7pm
Final Auto restock notification
1x Restocker then begins to restock shelves according to the notification

8pm
2nd Day shift finishes and begins day reports and store closes

Rinse and repeat..

Disclaimer: This is the bare bones requirement and I will admit I left the job some 10 years ago and I believe now click and collect along with home deliveries has been added.
I'm also guessing in recent times newer and easier systems may have been put in place since I left.

but anyways.. this was the life of restocker/storeroom personal during my 20 years in South Carolina as a manager of the night shift Logistics team.

Slowly go up the supply chain and go into management. There's way more going on in a supermarket than just cashiers and stockers.

It's google translate. Sorry :D

I enjoy the game a lot. I am level 52 and I have unlocked licenses from level 1-50 by then.
The more licenses you have activated, the longer it takes to order and store the goods. This can get tiring over time and I'll stop playing after 2 hours.

So I'm looking forward to the update. I'm still curious how the NPCs store and sort the goods :D

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The simplest way to deal with the restock issue is to just have the ability to set the price, reorder stock and restock shelf all through the price tag. Have the player buy and unpack products onto storage shelves in storage room so game keeps track of product amount in stock, then simply click price tag to restock the shelf, change price or order more stock. No need for NPC's.
