I have to restock in the morning and then it's enough for the day. I have all the shelves that were empty in that video already full with new items and it takes 20-30 mins in the morning to restock everything. That's why I stopped playing until restock workers are implemented.

Oh my god. thats insane, so you dont expect to play until you have restock workers are implemented, because you reach a point that you cant be doing taking even more time 40 min to make a damn of a restock. makes sense :O

I am fine waiting until its implemented. I just dont see the point in restocking 30 min for 5 min gameplay time until i have to repeat. I want to play as manager of the store not the restocker 24/7.

All store expansions but one available at level 35? All licenses but one by level 35? We must be playing different games. Lol
Apparently there is a way to edit your save file to give yourself any amount of money or levels. Get a million and buy everything I guess. Though I don't personally see the point, people can play however they like.

you could just not buy more product licences and have lots of shelving for far fewer products and fill up with the few you start with, that way you will always have plenty of stock for fewer items, thus far more stock of each thing and far less likely to have people walk away when they cant buy what they need.

This is how I play. I stock up four shelves of all products, and six for toilet paper, potatoes, and chicken. Works pretty well. I ONLY put a case of product on a shelf if it can be fully placed...three plus remainder works under almost all circumstances.

I can say, at level 45 I run 2 shelf spaces of everything I have unlocked which is all but 1 level 42 license, (saving up now for level 56 Licenses), I run 2 additional shelf spaces for bagged potatoes, T.P., Bleach, Dishwash Tablets, beer kegs, and beer 6 packs, I have 3 cashiers hired, I spend my time walking around the store adding any items that get low while the NPCs are shopping, by the end of the work day I have most items fully restocked and what I am low on I have added to shopping list to buy the next day, I do not worry if one or two items run out while they are shopping, It hurts the Store Points very little at this point.

so, Yes, Stocking is a large part of the game but it can be done efficiently so as to not take forever, Item placement on the shelves, shelving, fridge, and freezer placement, and how Your storage is laid out, as well as positions of cashiers all make a huge difference on quick stocking, I do not use the shelving in the storage area since there is no pictures on the sides of boxes nor a count of what is left in them, so I find having things set on the floor and open and laid out exactly how I have it set in store so I know exactly where to go for it, is the fastest for me

I have a precise setup on exactly how to put excess product. Gold tea is always in the same spot, just as chocolate is. Second nature by now.

I don't mind ordering all product for the day at 8 am, and restocking for the day, and then getting on the register.

There is no wrong way to play. Some combination of inventory management, stocking, and paying your bills.

Like you, I don't use the storeroom. More trouble than it's worth, and LESS optimal than stacking stuff outside the store. Less movement.

I make at least 2 shelves of the same products and I aline exactly in the same position in both shelves, as long as it dont run out in both shelves I always know where I put things :P

I see a lot of people going on about stockers and I get it. I'm farther in the licences than the guy who posted the video and it does take a long time to stock. There was an older game called Shoppe Keep that had automated stocking in the form of bots. You set each location on the shelf for a specific product and the bot would keep it full as long as it had stock of that item in storage so it can be done. My worry is that if they implement stockers we will have so little to do ourselves. Some kind of balance would have to be made.

The Way I do it.

Firs of course theres the Upgrade to another License.
I not buy it directly, first I look what are in that License and buy the Shelfes, Fridges or Freezers and store them in the Box in the Storage or Shop.
Then I save Money if needed, at last 3000 Money would be good.
In the Morning, buy the License and check if you have buy the right Displays.
If anythink not fit, buy the right one and keep the wrong Display in the Storage for later.
For myself I was thinking the Tuna would be canned, so I had a Shelf for it, but it need a Fridge.
Place all Displays in the Store and buy just one of each new Product and place them in the Displays.
Some fill just one Slot, other two, so you can see how many you need to order.

The Restock
I have one complete Shelf per Product, except Stuff who are oversized (like Toiletpaper), who get two.
Thats usual enough for one complete day without the need to refil.
I have two Clerks so I can go to get something to eat or so, because I not have anything to do over the Day.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3172087088

If youre low on money, just fill half of the Shelf (4 of 8 Slots).
Usual I have one Box of each Product in my 2x2 Storage, they are needed in the next step.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3174515410

After the End or Begin of the Day (after your Choice), I grab a Box with the Remains of a Product and go to the Display in the Shop.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181263331
Then I grabb Items from the lowest Slots and fill up upper Slots but just complete filled Slots.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181263556
If the Box don't have enough Items to fill a Slot complete, then I retour the Box to the Storage.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181263905
After all displays are sorted, I can see at the empty Slots how much i need to buy to refill the complete Shelf.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181264112
Every shelf should be so a Box with new Stuff is empty after the Shelf is full.
Then I buy the exactly Amount of Boxes I need.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181264424

Tip: If you empty a Box, close it with "C", it is just empty if it show no Picture.

The biggest issue with restocking is needing to run around with one box at a time to either restock or place in storage and take every individual empty box to the trash bin.
I've worked shop floor before and that's not how it's done.
For starters, you load up many boxes at once onto a wheeled cage or trolley. Any empty boxes are immediately flat packed and ideally kept on the trolley. Then once that restock run is complete you return part filled or unopened boxes back to storage and take the flat packed empty boxes to a recycle bin.
This would save LOADS of time if it was done like this in the game, as well as being realistic.

Edit: I also think most items are over-sized compared to their real-life versions, so developer side, making items a bit smaller so more can fit on the shelves would help.

A Trolley to carry more as one Box is already planed, maybe in thwe Way the Storage Shelf is working.
Biggest Problem is how to place the Boxes in it, after all there are 6 Boxes of different Sizes.
Probably you can just carry one type of Box like 2 of the Toiletpaper boxes 8 of the Flour, and 16 of the Cheese Boxes.
Better would be if the Trolley has 3 "Floors" in it so you can store one of the big in the bottom 2 of the medium and the smallest on top.
But first the Dev need to made it.
The Idea to use the Function of a Storage Shelf on it would maybe good.
I not have understand how it work and I not using it, because placing them on the Ground work better and you have direct access to all Boxes with the Ability to look inside how much is still in them.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181263331
If theres a Trolley, maybe the Movement is you sit on it like on a Register and if you move the Movement is the Trolley, so if you turn, you turn around the Trolley, not the Trolley around you like the Boxes.
That would be more Realistic, because you move a Vehicle not carry it around like a Box.

But biggest question is, is it realy usefull and faster?

Carry a box inside, open it on the Way inside place the Contents in the Shelf, close the Box to be sure it is empty and dispose it on the Way to get the next Box.

or

Drive the Trolley outside, load it with Boxes of the right Size from the Delivery who are never keep standing and pile on the Street, drive it inside, find the Box you need, stuff the Content in the Shelf, close the Box to be sure it is empty, place it on the Trolley again, carryit to the next place and repeat until all Boxes are empty, drive outside, unload and dispose the empty Boxes and load the Trolley again.

Of course you could just load Boxes for a Rof of Shelfes on the Trolley, but then you would need to sort the Boxes, who are splattered over the Walkway and the Street to find the right ones, and this would need more Time as it need at the Moment.
Personaly I think I'm faster without an Trolley, special if you made tight Floors between the Shelfes.

I have measure one Day in the Game:

Shoplevel 30
42 Products
Shop Time between opening the Store and last Payment of a Customer (no manual set to Close): 9,5m
Customers: 39
Not Found Items: 0
Price to high (every Item +30 cent over Shop Price, rounded down): 6
Profit: 1562,22 Money

Time to sort Shelfes after 9 pm: 20m
Time to buy everything to completly fill all Shelfes at 8 am: 4m
Time to restock at 8 am: 8m

So the total Time for one Day was around 42 Minutes.
Usual I use more time because it is a Game to Relax and if a Game need a Hour per Day then it is ok too.
After all I can always save and close the Game if I want, even I not would do it when the Shop is open, to prevent any Problems with the Customers, like if they maybe despawn after loading the Game and the collected Items with them.
I would like the Clock on half the speed, so a store stay open for 20 Minutes not just 10, this would practical double the Income and made it more easy to buy the totaly overpriced 4x4m Slots of the Store.
For the next Slot I need 11k but I maybe earn 500 per Day.
