quick question
I am quite a ways into the game so I didnt want to experiment. If I click to start a new game say for my wife or kid, will I lose my current game? Or can we both have our own saved game?

Thank you!!! Yeah my daughter has been playing with me and wants to go at it alone. re-stocking my store at the size it is now would be too much for her. I guess she can still run the counter from time to time and ill do the rest.

Wouldn't it be possible to simply create an extra save file manually?

1. Find the save file in AppData/LocalLow/Nokta Games/Supermarket Simulator
2. copy the file and save it with a different name
3. now you can start the game and choose to start a new game, which will overwrite one of the save files.
4. play until done, then save as usual
5. next time one of you want to play, make sure to rename the save files as necessary

To make it easier to keep track of, you can create two subfolders with your names, each containing your personal save files. When you want to play, copy your save files to the original location and start game. Once done, remember to copy the save file to your folder again.

Some reason when I change stuff in the save file it doesn't want to carry over because I change it to a different name. But what can I do? I mean I did everything that says to do like copy and rename it and it still won't work does it not work on Steam deck?

Thank you for this. My wife and I have both been wanting to play. Moving the save data definitely worked.

1. Name several new folders on the desktop, such as folder A B. C and so on.
2. Find the saved files for the game, copy these files to file A, then enter the game and click to start a new game. After the game ends, copy the new game save files to folder B.
3. When you need the game progress in folder A, overwrite the files in the game save folder with the files in folder A. This way, when you click to continue the game, you will return to the progress in folder A.
4. At the end of each game, you need to copy the files from the game save folder to the corresponding folder you named and overwrite the previous files

PS: The game save folder is AppData \ LocalLow \ Nokta Games \ Supermarket Simulator

Thank you, I was replacing the files and started the game but it was still loading my new game instead of my old one. So by starting the game, once you get the menu to continue quit etc, replace the files then, then click continue and it worked. I thought I lost my max level char so again thank you!
Doesn't work anymore I guess. Tried everything twice. Don't do it; you'll just waste your save.
R.I.P. "Le Coke" I'll miss you.

It does still work, but you have to disable cloud saves. Right click the game in your library -> properties -> cloud saves to off.
