Wanting a VR game ported to "flat" is like wanting an AAA game ported to mobile. Its going to suck. Maybe VR is nothing more than a gimmick at this stage, but it also offers a different experience for someone who loves games and the technology. Its the same as using a steering wheel or flight stick instead of a dpad and buttons. You get one tiny step closer to immersion.

Pretty much sums it up. A good example is Half Life Alyx. The mechanics, and world exploring are made for VR. The combat and movement all would suck on flatscreen but are great in VR. I'm not sure why so many people don't get that yet.

Also the pacing is often different in VR games to reduce potential for VR motion sickness. So when you port a VR game to flatscreen with mods, people are like what the heck why is the gameplay paced so slow? But in VR it's fine and doesn't feel as if it's paced slowly.

Thats what I said about Half Life Alxy. Look at me now. Owned a Index for a few months before it broke, returned it and got a quest 2 a few years later. Now thinking about a quest 3. Once you try VR you might reconsider. Sure it makes you use muscles you have never used before but it burns some calories instead of jacking it in your computer chair.

I prefer watch a big screen than put a helmet on my head to play, the devil want you in the matrix, you are the beginners

VR is also only good for e.g. to see holiday destinations etc. but it's really great and everyone can miss it. But it's not good for playing because it dissolves many physical problems and takes away from the fun. This is the reason why VR is used by many or is taken into account by developers. That's why it's a shame that a game like this is thrown into the sand even if it's not a AAA title.

I have not had a VR HMD for many years and I never had the idea of joining any VR game community forum to make such posts. It's childish. Who cares if you prefer a different kind of experience? If it's not for you, there are plenty of other games to play.

I care. Be cause VR Only is actually really dumb, and an unneccesary method to pursue VR support.

The game could be made for EVERYONE, if you just got over the hand waving gimmicks or take the damn time to develop Flat Input alongside Motion.

That if you make a VR game, and Gamepad isn't an option for an input device. You f'd up. And did something wrong.

I will never beleive that pressing buttons and face or eye tracked aiming can't co-exist motion inputs. Everyone is just under the impression that VR has to be VR Only. And you are all wrong. Quit ignoring flat gaming inputs as an option to play a game in this HMD. Because your hand waving gimmicks. are overhyped, and NOT that immersive.

This game was purposely not made for him on behalf of a lame VRAF echo chamber surrounding VR gaming that never stops trying to gatekeep HMD support.

Does it makes you feel like you're better than other people because you're a VR gamer, who plays VR only games....

Not everything is made for you, is an elitist selfish mindset of a response. And nobody cares about THAT.

Physically Disabled people should get to enjoy VR, probably more than most.
But when VR is chasing absolute physicality on everything. What's the point?

I'm not physically disabled btw. Just a lazy gamer.
And because of you vr remains a gimmick, also there are games that are ported from flat to vr and they all suck because of how wonky it is and people who played half life alyx with the flat mod found the game boring, you can't make a game vr and flat.
Also let us have some aaa titles in vr because it desperately need some.

Subnautica after 8 years, is still the best VR game I've ever played.

Half life alyx is boring. Even with the motion controls.

Slow games are slow... news at 9.

Making a game for everyone is making a game for no one

We are talking about an option to press a button reload or waving arms to reload.... in a general sense of input options.

IF this game had both.... it's a game made for noone iyo.

Is this game Multiplayer or Single player?

Are we competing at reloading in a single player game?

IF an automated reload makes the game slow and boring suddenly..... Wow.

You have to twist that door handle or the game is boring.......

I wonder what kind of gamer gets infatuated with twisting door handles?

Maybe if you opening doors just a bit with your left hand and you can use your other hand to put pistol in narrow gap to shoot unaware enemy can be more fun than moving whole camera and pointing enemy in middle of it or than pressing F to pay respects in COD game?
Mr Eos 31 OCT 2024 a las 11:12 a. m.
For as involved as the process is of peeking your pistol through the door opening. It still didn't require the user to have to manually twist the door handle.

I've played Flat games that give full control of the swing of the door opening. Can't remember the game for the moment, but I've seen it.

The only real problem is if you arbitrarily built a gatekeeping mechanic into the game that required the user to have to open the door in a very specific way.

Otherwise. There really is no problem if Player A is sneaking through the door and player B is just throwing it wide open.

IS THERE?

Are you saying that you're making VR ONLY games on behalf of forcing a playstyle on all gamers who choose to play that game?

Why do Racing sims still allow people to use automatic transmission instead of forcing everyone to learn to shift manually?

VR ONLY gaming, is the equivlent of forcing everyone to play with manual transmission. IT has to stop.

I have zero interest in that reload simulator or watching any videos about it.

I meant something like this on 0:51 (Gunman Contracts VR) https://youtu.be/xIxSAuZZC9k?si=NswJjcZ5WfoFqLVy&t=51
But basically this game will have flat screen mode, we can compare machanics when it will be out. There are two more inputs for the player (two hands) not only drone like camera moved by cursors.

Think of it like a hardware exclusive title like a Switch, no one is whining for Switch games to come to PC. Yes, you are forced to buy the hardware, but once you do its like a whole new library is available. It's even cooler than like a console exclusive because it truly feels different than standard games and very immersive. Look for a Quest 2 or Quest3s, fairly affordable.

Except in this case there is no exclusivity, it is on meta, it is on steam, it is on psvr2. They are basically complaining that a movie was made instead of a novel.
