I've found the inventory to be enjoyably-immersive, and I immensely appreciate that they've gone to the trouble to have fully animated (face and body) NPC's in the game. This story has some of the same vibes as the original Metro 2033 game & book, so I can't see how it's "cringy" (unless you didn't like 2033 either)?
The charging and all of those types of requirements..are very much "Metro things". Personally I enjoy it, as it reminds me that the game isn't in an age of "technological luxury".
Physical interactivity with the world is a mixed bag to me in games; it gets old. For me, I never expect to interact with "everything" -- I'd rather them focus on the more important things and optimize the game. Having fully-baked (or static) lighting that bounces more realistically than having all kinds of dynamic objects & lights...and keeping performance higher...seems like a good thing to focus on. I know some people are huge on being able to pickup every little thing though -- I'm just not one of them.
I "think" I've played most of the staple VR games over the years, but I just can't see how you could rank this as "VR from 5-6 years ago"? Obviously it depends fully on the type of game(s) we each enjoy, but I can say with confidence that I'm enjoying this more than I did HL:A. The atmosphere and "low-fi" tech, claustrophobic hallways, and mutants...are all my vibe (and why I love the Metro series, of course)!
im glad thats all you got from that
this game was a chore to finish, with me cringing the whole way especially at the end
Never a problem expressing your own opinion but projecting that onto everyone else is highly questionable.
this game is too dogpoo to even be a nominee, no matter how much people try to paint this game as gold the stench will always come out when u play it to the end
These devs could fix a big complaint from me if they just scripted it so that you can't actually put your head through the world, instead of blinding you with an orange barrier. When I play a VR game I want to be totally immersed not restricted.
But weaponhandling is also bad, REALLY BAD. In most times i try to grab the Kalash with the second hand to stabilize the shots i will grab the loadinghook or magazine. After the 4th try almost i am dead. WTF !!! And why i can´t kill the spiders in chapter 6 by a meelee-attack ? That´s only small mutant animals. Should be easy to kill them but by shooting it is impossible cause the bad handling and bad weaponangles.
Or trying to grab something with the left hand the healingpistol is spawning.
Seems the belt is too large and there is no possibility for adjust it like in Arizona Sunshine.
One couldn´t think that Vertigo Amsterdam created any VR-Games before.

And why are the char always talking ? Talking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and Nonsense. Story is the creepest ever and Ghost of the Metro will find you in ur dreams, Vertigo. What a badge of crap ! (I want that boy seeing dead and Yana also. And Oxana and all others. I am really pissid off of the story, the characters, the bad handling. Makes me sick and angry.)
Remember of good games in the line of Vertigo. Arizona Sunshine, The 7th Guest, Vertigo Remastered.
And 2024 this garbage against masterpieces like Batman: Shadow ?
Arizona Sunshine Reamke was my nominee also. But if Batman would released on Steam, so that one got my voice.
But on Nightmare it is funny and will need more than 4 hours.
