How to reliably knock people out?
I just can't play this game. I don't have enough ammo to shoot everyone and trying to punch/knockout only works very randomly. Most of the time I punch and it just slaps the guy and he shoots me. I'm sneaking up on them but I have a nerve condition where I can't punch full force like a maniac and this stupid game should have a button or something to punch. I literally can't play this game and wish I could refund. Could be tracking is also not great with Pimax and it's not registering full range in punch? Either way it's BS and never had such a problem with any other game.

Maybe your controllers are not registering acceleration properly? I did not had any problems with that using fist only, you can try to hold gun in hand or use bottles.

I've had issues trying to punch people successfully but there is enough ammo, you just can't be firing wildly. You need to use cover, move around, use distractions and pick them off one by one and make each bullet count.

Play this as Stealthgame and sneak behind the bad guys. Then your knock out will be successfully. I´m using almost 2 Kalashnikovs and hit simultan on the enemy´s head.
It is possible to beat the Nosalis also to death. But not really recommended !

Gun butt to the head works better than closed fist so hold your pistol out. instead of punching just flick your wrist fast enough so it slaps them hard enough

Use a long gun, like the kalash

I didn't know about the gun butt being more effective! That should have been indicated in the little stealth tutorial.

But to the OP: I've played the game on Normal with no melee attacks and never run ammo all the way to zero. This means in almost all sections, I've set off the alarm with the first kill and have to take out all enemies with gunplay, and still have the ammo to do it. You may be emptying clips too quickly and need to go for accuracy.

Also, remember you can pick up enemy guns and pull the clip out to stock up your own supply. Every dead enemy drops some ammo.

Once you get the crossbow, you can usually get a little more stealth done, unless the enemy is armored. (Not sure if there's a vulnerable spot, I never found one...)

The heilsing can pierce heavy armored target helmets
