Oh look vertigo ruined another game
Imagine being able to adapt the metro series to VR and you choke this hard.
Floating hands, low textures, digital deluxe editions.

Who do you think you are?
You've already got people saying VR is irrelevant and it's really hard to convince people otherwise when you have studios like this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out on major franchises.

Get your act together or get out of the industry.

alyx had floating hands and it's literally still the best vr game to date. I personally don't like when VR games use IK, it's weird and usually doesn't move properly. Low texture res is a bummer but the effect of it needing to run on stand-alone and lower tier headsets.

Didn't Half-Life: Alyx have floating hands, and isn't that everyone's ideal example of what a VR game "should" be ?

I feel like this game is being held back by being made for stand alone. It feels very much low budget in the graphics department and exploration. ♥♥♥♥ there is no exploration its basically linear pathing.

Who said floating hands are bad? Actually it works pretty well, player movement is not physics based like in Boneworks or Blade Sorcery so full body might not work here. Textures are low res only on particular objects not whole enviroment and some look great, especially those with normal maps. Ok - digital deluxe edition is nothing special, it is for players who care about skins so you can pass that without regret you missing something. It has some downsides and own issues but not those you counted in. Judging from info on your profile you did not even played so it makes sense.

Yeah, why would I?
The last game I bought from vertigo was after the fall - and even then, their floating hands, belt inventory system was dated.

You can play Skyrim VR with mods that add a VRIK body and physics for everything, RIGHT NOW and it's 100x more impressive than anything vertigo has done so far.
I called this game being trash from the moment vertigo announced they were making it, and I was right.

Who says floating hands are bad? I say floating hands are bad. You're used to seeing arms connected to your hands, and I don't know what world you think that improves immersion for, but you're objectively wrong if you do.

Again, There are plenty of people that think VR is a gimmick, and how are you supposed to convince them otherwise when slop like this gets coped into acceptance?

As for the people responding with "I prefer floating hands, I'll say that hearing "hey, I'll have you know that I prefer the taste of glue" is probably something that's not out of the realm of possibility in normal conversation with them, so I'll abstain.

I prefer floating hands over IK body that doesn't align with my physical body. When I turn my upper body sideways but see my virtual chest instead of a shoulder, the immersion gets thrown into a trash can.

I have to learn to be this bad on the forums, cause I want Steam points.

I think everyone is missing the point of the game. Besides being in VR, it wasn't supposed to be some revolutionary thing. It did exactly what it set out to do. It gave us a very Metro Style METRO GAME. If you've played the original games, you'll see it follows the same style almost perfectly.

Exactly, some PCVR users expected a smaller studio like Vertigo games to be on par with Valve on a lower budget.
Like every developers have the same skills and knowledge in game development.
They did a Metro game in VR, and it's a great Metro game in VR, is it perfect ? No. Is it good and fun ? Hell yeah.

It reminds me of Medal of honor A&B launch, hundreds of players were disappointed because it wasn't like half life Alyx and whinned about it, but the game was good and was a good Medal of honor.
I think those users have forgotten one big thing, PCVR isn't big enough to have bigger studio make bigger games.

Games like this can help show those studios and publishers if there are still a PCVR player base, but they won't risk a big loss to put too much money.

4A games made a VR game, Arktika.1 , it was a nice looking corridor rail shooting. They could have made the games themselves, but didn't.

Once again, Vertigo games did a Great job with what they had, it's their best game so far, and it's nice to watch them grow and do bigger games. Do they also need to improve, yes, but they're on the good path.
