I don’t see anyone on Reddit or game reviewers mentioning any issues yet. Hope it’s something simple with virtual desktop or steam link. Only thing I can think of is verify integrity of game files and restart steam client as well. Their support article mentions OpenXR should be used for less memory usage as well.

10700k
RTX3070 8GB
32GB Ram
Windows 11
Textures on high
Shadows Medium
Fog Medium
AA TAA
Resolution scale no change ingame, 1.3 in SteamVR
Maybe the devs like to clarify if 8GB VRAM is enough for high textures.
A spreadsheet on settings, hardware and performance and would have been helpful.
I Think it's the high settings for shadows and fog. One of those two, I was able to play fine when I set those to medium default and then when I turned them up again I right away crashed.
Open SteamVR.
Press the Menu bar title saying "STEAMVR 2.8.6" and select Settings.
Press OpenXR on the left bar.
Click SET STEAMVR AS OPENXR RUNTIME.
Then the Current OpenXR Runtime should say "SteamVR"
Exactly the same here. The best setting I found is AA off und resolution high. Th e only problem when turning AA off is the light bug of the NPC.
