Report on FIFA 25 Performance Issues with AMD GPUs - very important
FIFA 25 is experiencing severe performance issues on AMD GPUs, particularly on the Radeon RX 7900 XT when using driver versions 25 and 24.12. The game exhibits both soft freezes and hard locks, leading to unplayable conditions. Additionally, there is an alarming increase in power consumption, with the GPU drawing over 400 watts despite no overclocking being applied. This raises serious concerns regarding hardware safety and stability.

Technical Findings:

Soft Freezes & Hard Locks:

During gameplay, FIFA 25 encounters random soft freezes where the game temporarily becomes unresponsive before resuming.

In severe cases, hard locks occur, requiring a full system restart.

Excessive Power Draw:

The RX 7900 XT is observed pulling over 400W during gameplay, which is far beyond its expected power consumption under default conditions.

This behavior was noted despite a lack of any manual overclocking.

The power draw appears to exceed the safe operational limits of the GPU, introducing a risk of hardware damage.

Driver & System Tests:

A full driver reinstallation was performed, including a clean installation of both version 25 and 24.12.

A fresh installation of Windows was conducted to rule out software conflicts.

Despite these efforts, the issue persisted, indicating a fundamental incompatibility between FIFA 25 and AMD’s latest drivers.

Potential Causes:

The game may be improperly managing GPU power limits, causing excessive power draw and instability.

AMD’s latest drivers (versions 25 and 24.12) may contain compatibility issues with FIFA 25, leading to hard locks and freezes.

FIFA 25’s optimization for AMD hardware may be insufficient, causing abnormal system behavior.

Recommendation:Strongly advise against playing FIFA 25 on an AMD GPU until a fix is confirmed.

The risk of potential hardware damage due to excessive power draw is too high.

Users experiencing similar issues should report the problem to both AMD and EA Sports to push for an urgent resolution.

If necessary, consider reverting to an older driver version or playing on alternative hardware until a stable solution is found.

Conclusion:FIFA 25 currently presents a significant risk for AMD GPU users, particularly those with the RX 7900 XT. Until AMD and EA address the issue, it is highly recommended to avoid playing FIFA 25 on AMD graphics cards to prevent potential damage and frustration.

Efectivamente realice pruebas y la solución hacer un downgrade de Drivers a la versión 24.10.1. Para los que no sepan de donde descargar se puede realizar desde acá:

https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/previous-drivers.html/graphics/radeon-rx/radeon-rx-6000-series/amd-radeon-rx-6650-xt.html

Adicionalmente busquen el programa AMD BUG REPORT TOOL en su equipo y hagan un reporte antes de hacer el downgrade.

Thanks for the post, my graphics card is getting power surges causing full pc crash, its a rx 7600, i tried reverting to old drivers, 24.10.1 but not fixed. Should i stop playing now to prevent hardware damage?

I don;t know actually have bean adressing this issue to EA , but since we are very small comunity AMD users , they are not providing anything as responce
Played On Win 11 with Thinkpad Carbon 7th and RX6600 via Thunderbolt3.
With AMD driver from July of 2022: frezzes during a gameplay with default video settings, fps limit seems helping a bit but still like slow-mo game somethimes; Have HypeThreading turned off due to security concerns;
With AMD driver from June of 2024 (that I got on Lenovo website): unable to play a match, got DX12 error pointing to some cpp file) after starting game and before switching to that screen with tips, video intros etc.
Also regarding anti-cheat.
By default, EA AntiCheat (EA AC) installing publisher (Electronic Arts) certificates to Trusted Root Store - this is wrong because such store is for ROOT certificates only. Instead of that trusted publisher certificate from EA AC should be installed to he Trusted Publishers store. Not into ROOT or Intermediate stores this is urgent.

This problem has been escalating and has been reported broadly since last October. Apparently, EA has had enough opportunity to make themselves aware of this issue, but they chose to put their head under the sand and ignore it completely.

"That sounds really frustrating! The RX 7600 should handle all games well.
HAS ANYONE FOUND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM?

I have an RX 7600 and I'm experiencing the same problems. Would migrating to PES be the solution?
