Upgrading from Fifa 17 to this?

Hey, I'm not that big of a Fifa player but I still play some Fifa 17 every now and then.
Mostly I just create a player and start a career, no online, no Ultimate Team or anything.
How is this game for a singleplayer player like me? I mean I still love Fifa 17 but was thinking of upgrading to FC25 for better graphics and updated mechanics.

No, I'd rather play the old PES games on the Playstation 2 - yes, PS2.

The games have gotten worse in terms of performance. These PC versions are full of bugs. I've just bought FC 25 and I already have a black screen after the first kick off game. Before that, the game started with the wrong resolution and not in full screen. What a sh*t show. It was the same on FC 24 and FIFA 23 on PC. The PS versions are better. The PC versions are too buggy.

Moreover, there aren't basically any changes between FC 24 and 25 and between FC 24 and FIFA 23, and between FIFA 23 and 22, etc. I remember that between roughly 2014 and 2019, the game was still exciting, because you could see the improvements in terms of graphics and features, but not anymore. They literally don't solve bugs that have existed for years (like black screens, controllers that randomly jump between menu items, bad performance, etc.)

If you play just occasionally, it makes no sense to buy the new games.

Hoe can it be that year after year every Fifa after 17 is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?
I mean I don't even care about how predatory Ultimate Team and the other stuff is, I just want to play alone.

Don't buy it for online gameplay, it has full of bugs. But for Solo Gameplay like Carrier mode or something like that it isn't bad at all.

EAFC is for people like drugs, everyone knows it's crap but you keep playing. It's the addictive spiral of how people get hooked on Ultimate.
I prefer to play the games on the PS2 emulator with improved graphics and the latest PES games like the 2020 +2021.

PS:

However, if you only play offline alone or with a friend, EA FC 24+25 can still be recommended.
