You can make $25 every 35 seconds playing Five Finger Fillet
The final competitor is always the same pattern, so once you learn it, and practice it, it is VERY easy to succeed every time. (And you can even mess up 4 times per match.) The muscle memory kicks in pretty fast.

For me, the key was finger positioning, counting, and taking off the headphones, so the sound of the knife hitting the table doesn't mess up my counting.

Then I have my Left forefinger on 1 and my Right forefinger, middle finger, and ring finger on 2,3,4. (But I don't think of them as 2,3,4. I think of them as 1,2,3 on the Right Hand.)

So my Left Hand is pressing every other beat. Then my Right Hand is going back and forth between counting to 3 and counting to 2:

1,2,3,1,2
1,2,3,1,2
1,2,3,1,2

Press E to play again
Press Q to skip the stretching animation after you sit down
Hold W to max the Bid and press Enter
Press Q to skip their turn
Take your turn
Press Q to skip their second turn
Take your turn
Stand up

If you don’t make any mistakes, all of that only takes 35 seconds, and the max Bid is $25. You can make the $1,000 for Savvy Merchant in 25-30 minutes, WITH NO LUCK INVOLVED.

Takes way, way too long. Poker can net you much more money much faster.

How? If you can bust everyone at the table, you can win a max of $500 per game at the High Stakes Poker game in Blackwater,

But to be faster than Five Finger Fillet, you would need to bust all 4 players at the High Stakes Poker game within 12 minutes.

You are out of your mind if you think you only get $500 for clearing the high stakes table in Blackwater. Are you playing at the table in the bar (in the patio) or are you going down the street to the hotel?

I am playing the game down the street from the saloon, where you have to wear the specific Outfit to even play.

You have to put up $125 to play. So I assume every other player also puts up $125.

You can't buy extra chips mid-game as far as I know, so the entire pool of money in a High Stakes Poker game is the $125 buy-in times 5 players, if the table is full. $625 in total.

But you put up $125 of that, so $500 is other players' money. You can win a lot more than 500 CHIPS, but the total dollar amount of all chips on the table is $625, unless I am missing something.

I spent hours skinning animals for no reason and now after I finished the story I'm sitting with 11k and basically nothing to buy. Most of the stuff in game is dirt cheap anyway, only explosive rifle is a bit pricey.

Yeah, I wouldn't suggest using this method just to make money in general. Only for the $1,000 Gambling Profit required for Savvy Merchant Outfit.
