It seems a lot of people in disagreement with that choice will invent themselves reasons as to why it "mistakenly" was voted by "dumb" people who cant bother to look at what they do but the actual reasons people voted it as best soundtrack is because they most likely enjoyed the soundtrack better than in other games (duh).
No one is asserting that the people voting are dumb, it is just very unlikely that the vast majority of people voting in any given category have actually played every game that was nominated. In this case RDR just happens to be the most mainstream IP. Of course people are going to vote for what they recognize.
Do you really think everyone voting in the Steam Deck category even has a Steam Deck, or everyone voting the VR category has VR, or everyone voting in the better with friends category has friends? People vote for what they recognize. It doesn't make them dumb, it just makes the Steam awards meritless.
Im pretty sure this guy did :
_____
I didnt vote for that category because I dont have a steam deck. Im assuming people who dont have steam deck did not vote for that category.
Maybe we can put some 70s football games on TV and give Joe Montana the MVP too?
Goes to show how dumb awards are when based on popularity.
Silent Hill 2 is at least known for having one of the best soundtracks in gaming history. The Remake had the original composer Akira Yamoka come back improve on it. Silent Hill also has the best sound design by far.
I bet 99.9% of people here couldn't name one composer who worked on red deads soundtrack without googling it and they certainly didn't reinvite them back to improve it for the PC port.
