Regardless, this game is basically the same as 2 just more simplified and not as refined. If you played GTA 4 back in the day it plays the same pretty much. If you liked the characters and world from 2 id say its definitely worth playing. RDR 2 is a prequel to this one after all. Its still a great game (just not as good as 2) despite how old it is now.
The writing and voice acting are amazing, as you can expect from a R* title. Some samples:

Bad experiences with past games trying to appeal to a larger base and imo mostly failing and dumbing down the game (Mass Effect and Dragon Age come to mind immediately).
I figured the game would be mostly similar but wasn't sure and with the release date being more recent than RDR2 I wasn't sure if it was a rerelease or like another game in the series with the same name. Also further confusion abounds because of the charge for the game I Already own in the bundle (usually the cost of games you already own is removed from the bundles). I just wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into.
Old but gold
Don't expect the same in depth gameplay mechanics as RDR2. RDR1 was developed for a now 20 years old console platform which caused hardware limitations to make the game more simple in design.
Hunting is way less in depth as an example. No pelt quality or legendary animals at all, no fishing, dialogue options are way more limited and no bonding with your horse in any meaningful way.
No real core managementt except for a health bar and dead eye bar. And RDR1 world is just way less interactive.
Its a nice game. And was one of the best for its time.
So many insult replies instead of objective argument about the price. Once you resort to insults and strayed away from logical discussion, you lose. Simple as that.
Oh no, they are <Banned>, too much misbehavior I guess?
