You mean 1k peak player count? People aren't buying the game. The release was a failure.
The release is a big success, because this port probably costs less than 200k $, and according to SteamSpy, estimated owners just on Steam are around 200 000. You can calculate it yourself how much money they made so far. Sure, it's not a big thing for a company like Rockstar, but a success for sure.
I don't care. It runs great on my old PC and i'd rather take straight port with some small enhancements over GTA "Definitive"-like remaster.
That's okay if the gamers keep supporting this behavior, can't blame a company for pushing that.
I've already played the original game when it was first released many years ago. Personally, I can wait for a remaster in the next 5 years.
Community: "Remake? yeah right..."
Think about it. It makes perfect sense as PC gamers are buying this RDR1 PC port because they are desperate since they never had the game on PC before---so sales are going to be great. A future REMAKE also makes sense for everyone COMBINED with the new PS6, Xbox Next, Switch2 and PC (especially those who didn't want this RDR1 simple PC port). It's going to happen, not IF, but WHEN
