Family Share?
Steam lets me install the game while a friend of mine in steam family bought it, I launch it tho and cockstar's launcher doesnt let me play it.

In theory it does not require its launcher, at least that is what the Steam page makes clear, there is no warning about using a third-party launcher...

I'll also try to play it when it's released thanks to a friend.

It's already released in steam, I just tried to launch it and rockstar won't even let me launch the game.

I read on a reddit forum that they were able to bypass the rockstar launcher for rdr2 by using the game crack by replacing the steam files

This sucks, until the game was released there was no text warning that you need a Rockstar account to play, it's very strange that it's available on Family Share if you need its launcher to play... I just checked and I can't play.

We will have to wait for the game to be cracked to try it.

It always said that you need a Rockstar games account to play. Check the store page
"Requires 3rd-Party Account: Rockstar Games (Supports Linking to Steam Account)"

I didn't say it... I've been using Steam for 10 years, I know that if a game needs a launcher you can't play it on Steam Share and many of them are not even available to other family members...

Yesterday and today I checked that section and it did not exist, even the achievements were added minutes ago.
