Bounty poster bug

So I'll just get right down to it: I accepted a bounty poster, went to the bounty, realized I hadn't unlocked the lasso yet so I couldn't take the guy alive.

At this point, I left, and did the missions needed to unlock the lasso.

Now, the target isn't on the map anymore, I've returned to the location and he's nowhere to be found. But the poster is also gone. Meaning I can't do the mission.

This was also the very first bounty mission so I believe I'm locked out of every single one of them now, which sucks even harsher donkey schlong.

Do I need to restart the game in order to do these bounties? Will this get fixed once the game sort of "resets" (if it even does, I remember RDR2 doing something like that) when I take over as Jack?

Any help would be, well, helpful.

Mo Van Barr, that's the bounty. It also locks me out of the "poker cheating" outfit as it relies on completing this bounty.

I'd do almost anything to fix this issue because I don't have the mental fortitude necessary for the tedium of replaying hours of content I JUST completed yesterday.

Bounties are posted starting around 7:00 in the morning. I'd sleep until six or so, then wait to see if the dude re-posts that bounty.

I slept for multiple in-game days and nothing... Thanks for the suggestion though!

So it's been around for 14 years and Rockstar still didn't fix it for the re-release.
I regret paying them money already.

I seem to have the same bug. Accepted the bounty, did an unrelated mission or two and now the bounty objective is gone and the poster doesn't reappear. Anyone have a fix?

I ended up restarting so I'm not sure there is one.

You haven't had the same bug since restarting your playthrough? Do you just do the bounties as soon as they appear?
