Toggle Off AutoAim completely
Is there a way to FULLY turn off auto aim?
People say its toggles it off when you play on hardcore, but still seems to trigger at a certain distance. I would prefer to have it completely off, that is absolutely zero assistance. Which file would I have to modify for that, or which mod is there as I have not seen any?

Go into Options and set Targeting Mode to Expert. At least, that turns off Auto Aim for controller. Not sure if there's auto aim with a mouse.
If you find a way, let me know, because it’s driving me up the bloody wall. Especially since the way it ‘assists’ my aim is to drag my reticule away from the guy shooting me in the tits

May i know what auto aim means here? does your character aim at people when you are close to them?
Can’t speak for the OP, but in my case, no. It’s the exact opposite. As enemies come closer, the reticule is increasingly pulled away from them, especially when they’re moving

For me its just slight, hard to tell. Maybe the hitboxes are too big, but at a distance I seem to get kills I did not aim at. Playing on Hardcore helps, also if you don't play on hardcore you can use the silent virtues trainer/modmenu whatever. To cycle trough the aiming modes in the "weapon options" tab.

Not sure i've been trying to figure it out mself. Auto aim/Aim assistance makes it harder to aim. Im sure its there somewhere in the files, and i can set it to 0.

It happens with keyboard and mouse too, its very slight. In fact I'm not sure if its inaccuracy of the guns but after a certain distance, bullets just magically "magnetize" towards a target when to me it seems I clearly was not having my cross hair on him.

Been playing with the light aim assist option and I've had no trouble with it. Its an older game so aim assist is a little sticky but I haven't had issues with it no targeting properly that doesn't sound normal.
