Hardcore difficulty
I'm thinking between Normal and Hardcore for my 1st playthrough and just read that on Hardcore you have twice less: health, money, deadeye and everything costs more too, so basically things are x4 harder to buy and shootouts are 2x times harder.

I wish RDR2 had this mode because it's very easy to progress and money become useless fast. But is RDR1 balanced the same way? Or even on Normal, it gives more challenge than RDR2?

So basically, Normal or Hardcore for a player who thinks RDR2 was too easy? Won't hardcore be too tedious because die from 1-2 shots...

Do not play hardcore on your first playthrough. It's fun but it's a DLC mode that I believe came with the GOTY edition. It completely ♥♥♥♥♥ with the balance of the game. It's pretty fun if you've already played through the game once but definitely stick to normal if you're going for a first playthrough.

People think it’s too easy because rockstar f%#*#d up and put the warhorse in the satchel as your 1st horse. It definitely does make it too easy.

However…If you play without the warhorse you will constantly get knocked off your horse by random swarming wild animals, who will kill your horse and then will kill you as well. You will die much more often when you get a satchel full of loot (the game spawns more aggressive deadly animals when your satchel is full and/or when you are about to complete a challenge).

Warhorse is so OP that you can just sit there and watch wolves nip at him and nothing happens. It’s stupid.

Try playing without the warhorse, it definitely won’t be too easy.

its harder than RDR2 for sure, even in normal
but the overall economy of the game is unbalanced like RDR2, its too easy to be rich, so if you want some realist economy approach hardcore is better i think

It's so bad in RDR2 that the plot is kind of funny. Dutch is out getting people killed for money while Arthur just walks around with a stockpile of gold bars.

I beat it on hardcore on my first playthrough on PS3 because that was the only way to turn off auto aim which messed up my headshots. I absolutely hated that :will_poo:

I found the game challenging but fun and not frustrating difficult.

If you are a decent shot, this game is very easy on Hardcore.
