Having trouble reaching 120 fps (low CPU & GPU usage)
So I'm running the game on a Ryzen 7 5800x and an RTX 4070 at 1440p and ultra settings (though the graphics settings and especially the resolution don't seem to have a lot of impact on performance). However, the game has trouble locking to 120 fps in more populated areas (instead hovering between 90 and 120 fps), even though neither CPU nor GPU usage is maxed out (CPU usage hovers between 20 and 30% and GPU usage between 50 and 70%). I'm inclined to believe it's an issue with how the game utilises the CPU, though I'm not entirely sure. I have a VRR display so it's not a huge issue, but I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this?

Yeah the game have Big cpu bound.
I have 12700k and in 4k i have it in armadillo too.

Only things you can do for the moment is put frame gen and you get lock 120 fps.

Same here, 4090 looks silly with 30-40% usage while fps is 60-70/144. 7900x and other components to match so it's not my rig :)

The cpu tasks are not as easily divided up as evenly between the cores as the gpu. A 14 year old game will not take advantage of 8 cores and 16 threads cpu.
One developer said NPC often are not as easy to divide up between the threads which means NPC puts a heavy load on one or two cores thus limits the frame rate.

I see on youtube even 7800x3d have it but with less fps drop.

For me i found a fix for nvidia high end gpu, its put dldsr 2.25x, FG on and for me i am 138fps lock with my 4k 144hz

Same issue here.

10600k / RTX 4070 at 3440*1440. Stuck at around 80FPS in Armadillo with around 30% CPU usage and 50% GPU usage at max.

GPU goes to 70/80% with FG on. Not having this issue at all on the second game.

Yeah but bro.... there is 5 npc in duel lol.
Hopefully there is FG for fix it but they need to fix in intern

110 fps is not enough ?? i dont understand ..your reaktion is faster then 120 fps ?

The developer mentions the npc needs to react with each other and the environment which make it harder to divide them up into multiple threads., It was Daniel's channel that explain this.

Its not the issues, here we speak about drop fps a thz same place with low gpu utilisation, so there is an issues.

Again the gpu thread can easily be divided up among the cores while the cpu main thread can not.

I am having 70-80fps with 3060 Ti at 5120x2160 Ultra and my GPU utilization is still round 75% lol....on 3440x1440 I am having 100 fps with 50-60% GPU usage...on 1080p I'm reacing 120 with 30% GPU utilization..
I'm playing at 144hz and there is no way to reach that fps, only when I look at sky...

Yes, because the game at the time was made for the Xbox 360, which had a tri-core 3c/6t processor. It's unlikely to have taken advantage of HT and probably didn't use more than 2 cores anyway (the ol' "Crysis limited to 2 cores" issue). But that was a thing for a lot of games then, because high core counts weren't a thing yet. This port, being a straight port, is simply a product of its time. And the technical limitations that entails.
