My Remaster mod for RDR (Raytracing, Dynamic DOF, texture enhancement and more)

If Rockstar wont add current gen effects to their rerelease; I guess I will.

Available soon for members of my Patreon. Just testing and getting everything perfect. Trying to exclude the games native shaders from interfering which is a trial and error process of going through hundreds of pixel/vertex shaders - however selecting/previewing causes the game to throw an error and freeze/crash. I think R* has made modifications purposefully difficult. Honestly had to end task and restart over again 50 times now but making good progress. I may have to resort to static UI mask for version 1 (I usually like to do things dynamically).

All my presets and mod packs are carefully tailored to their respective games so you can be sure of a professional result and good experience with my packs.

I will update this post with my progress and aim to release in the next 24 hours.

Probably this guy was sinply hired by rockstar to offer a raytracing mod coz they were to lazy to do it theirself.

And thats why this mod for 10€ is as greedy and pricey as the game itself and steam refuses to lock this thread.

Yep, makea sense now :/

Reshade...

Did you even create an texture pack or did you just add an sharpening shader and call it texture enhancement?

It takes 5 minutes to make an reshade preset not 5 dollars

It's definitely the latter. Adds "lumasharpen" - calls it "texture enhancement"

If only it extended beyond reshade as i was led to believe otherwise like true RTX support and crisp texture improvements, like that ai upscaled nexus mod if it really made everything readable.
There was GTA mods that really pumped graffecxs for example. Those are what i want, for free if possible, Not some Reshade copy/paste slop hiding behind a monthly fee. Start Backporting RDR 2 graphical improvements and a long months of donations would make sense.
Reshade itself is free, why should we pay for a $10 preset on top of release price?

True, the game literally JUST came out, i cannot see improvements comparable to those other mods mentioned before now without some time machine.

Hmmm... Didn't realise it was Reshade. I'm well capable and familiar with Reshade.. I can create my own preset. I always do for every game I play.

For a moment I thought it was an unique mod created by the OP.

Even then, I saw OP making the argument of how much time and work it take to configure everything. Well.. that's what modders have been doing for years. RE4 HD mod took 8 years of development and it was still free.

Mods are expected to be free, and the author open a donation door for those who wish to support them, but not mandatory.

Donators normally get early access and stuff... but at the end, mods should be free for everyone.

Look at Voxel Doom.. another multi year work released for free. Or RTX Doom 2 or anything really.

We all know we are going to get the Half-Life 2 RTX for free as well and the amount of work going into that is monumental. Every asset and texture recreated from scratch. Basic a remake. Free.

Seriously, dude.. I was onboard supporting you. But I'm not paying for reshade preset. Your business won't take off like this.

You should try the good faith approach. Release it for free for everyone. Let people support you if they wish and offer some early access for supporters or something.

Reshade should not be listed as mods. It is simply more of the same; inline filters. but hey tiktok generation.

If was "Free" Would of gave it a try and been likely if I liked would of donated some money for it, But I do not care to go in blind and pay for something that may or may not be to my liking!

Apparently 2 paywalls.
This preset requires you to have the "CompleteRT" shader by another patreon account.

So you need to subscribe for 2 patreon accounts just to get this mod.

So getting this, will cost you over 20 dollars.

$20 per month for some reshading and CompleteRT.. which is also a shader in reality? That is simply insane, feels like i'd be double dipping on Rockstar games mods just like the games too now haha.
As if i wanna go back to the paid Skyrim mods era but turned into a multi subscription model.. Stayed away from tv streaming services for this reason.

You don't need to pay $20 a month. For stuff like this, you can subscribe, download all the mods and cancel immediately. So you only have to pay 1 off for all the mods.
Still, paid mods isn't cool, much less reshade.
