access violation (c0000005)

All overlays turned off and it still crashes and says this. Been on rockstar customer service and they don't know anything. Anybody else figure it out?

How do i tell if it's working? I don't see any performance improvements.

Not sure what you're talking about - this is to fix anyone getting access violation errors when launching the game.

The point of the post is that it fixes access violation errors. it clearly works for me because the game actually runs now. not sure what you're expecting.

The mod page specifies it improves performance, i haven't noticed a difference.

This caused an access violation error for me. I had to reinstall the game to fix it.

If you have any overlay with some sort of monitoring going on for FPS counter (ex: GeForce Experience, etc.) turn it off. If that doesn't work, then you can only hope they send a hotfix.

i had this happen to me for a few days then i checked my nvidia settings and they where set to max i then changed them and the game started to work fine hope this helps

Thanks, that worked.
Went from getting the access violation on the first screen of text to running fine.
Seems to work by adding local Direct X dlls to game folder that override the system's which must be where the access violation was happening.

For me, enabling DLSS/DLAA was the culprit. Surprisingly, I did not get this error until I was playing Undead Nightmare.

Ever since DLSS was off, I never had any crashes.

I did disable that and used dynamic resolution. It crashed way less. I started using lossless scaling and that worked also but I get flickering from time to time.
