access violation (c0000005)
All overlays turned off and it still crashes and says this. Been on rockstar customer service and they don't know anything. Anybody else figure it out?

Everyone's just going to tell you to disable Afterburner and Rivatuner, neither of which I have and I'm still getting the error.

I've been on with customer service for a hour and they say the same things like update your driver's and restart your computer. I don't think they know what to do. Are we just gonna wait for a update?

I've tried em all. Updated nVidia drivers, reinstalled VC and .net redistributables, turned off every overlay, exited all non-essential processes in Task Manager, verified the files I don't know how many times, reinstalled 5 times, rebooted a few in there as well. Nothing works and it's something they'll have to patch, if they do.

Apparently it's only affecting a few people judging by the reviews, so it might not be worth their time.

Im trying to figure this one out too. Glad to know its not unique to my PC. Guess we are going to have to wait for a hotfix or something.

Customer service is having me reinstall the game now. I have little to no hope for this one.

To fix this I read (keep in mind I only read this):

1. Turn off MSI afterburner
2. Start game
3. Drop down to desktop
4. Start afterburner

I’m using evga precision x and have zero problems.

Also maybe try windowed full screen in the settings

Called it, folks just going on about afterburner when we don't have it installed.

What settings? Game's crashing on the first splash screen before even trying to load in.

Had afterburner installed, uninstalled it from system and still having access violation issues. seems like it's going to be a hotfix that will be needed from rockstar, repaired .net framework and reinstalled VC - not much more i can do...

Correct, nothing we can do about it. We're at the mercy of the port masters to fix this POS.

Same here. Tried everything for about 4 hours at this point.. I'll get a refund, and come back in a couple weeks..maybe. I really wanted to play this tho

Hopefully its just a matter of a short hotfix? I wont hold my breath though.

I'm sure it is, but again, judging by the reviews, likely they won't even notice.

So I did turn off dlss and fsr. I'm using the games resolution system and so far no crashes. I only played 30 mins longer but it doesn't mean it's fixed. In my customer service chat, I sent them different links from steam to reddit showing them people are having the same issues. I also sent them a screenshot. Hopefully it will do something.
