As for the pre-order bonus, I expect the same general deal as with Daybreak and or previous games. With launch week having better discounts than normal on Deluxe and Ultimate editions. Launch week only artbook and soundtrack sampler included in all versions.
Hard to say what they will include in the "Deluxe". That is generally what I buy, but I have bought Ultimate Editions before. Ultimate Edition will always include everything, barring any "limited" items once past launch week. You can see what was all included in Daybreak Deluxe and that was US$80 during Launch Week.
NISA could try and crank up the FOMO a bit here and make a few DLC items "limited" or Launch week only. We saw this just recently with 'Ys X', which had an artbook exclusive to the Ultimate Edition, along wiht multiple costumes that are no longer available because they were "Launch Week Only".
It wouldn't shock me if that was the case here with the FOMO being cranked up a bit again. This game doesn't exactly have a good reputation, so they may try and use that anti-consumer tactic to get more launch week sales.
There's like seven (7) BGM sets in this game and that could be a target to make one or more "limited". Hopefully they don't go down that road here with any content, but we'll see on the 14th, I guess.

There can be always special DLCs that Falcom released for the Japanese edition for shop preorders, special magazines, etc, so that is why I am interested.
Yes, maybe early next week. I hope they do, but we just have to wait and see because no one knows right now. It's not a big deal if they don't because there's plenty of time from release day and until the launch specials end for people to decide.
For special DLC's, there's a couple, but specifically a Grimcat palette swap costume for a certain character that people will want. It should be included, but maybe not, and it could be a FOMO costume that is locked behind Launch Week purchases or maybe even Ultimate Edition Launch Week only.
We just gotta hang tight until launch day to get full information, or maybe earlier if they post something, but no one knows anything right now.
I hope we will be able to buy the Grimcat outfit for Renne.
Yeah, same. People were not very happy with how they handled Ys X, so I hope they don't repeat that.
After re-reading that bit of my post you quoted, I just want to make clear that it was just one of two artbooks that was exclusive to the Ultimate Edition while also being Launch Week only. There were launch week only costumes also but they were either tied to the Deluxe or Standard, because I have them and I did not buy the Ultimate for Ys X.
Sorry if there was any misunderstanding from my earlier post.
I really hope we will get the Grimcat outfit also. NISA will for sure hear about it if it's not included, but I'm pretty sure we will since the NISA version is the official Japanese PC version. I believe there was a pre-order costume that is a Mishy Van or something also. I can totally see those being Launch Week only costumes with the Van costume being Launch Week to the Standard and the Grimcat Renne Launch Week to the Deluxe.
I hope they don't, because it just makes people feel bad who can't get the game right away, but it's all speculation from me at this point.
If I'm reading this right, they picked out a few select Z1 outfits just to make them exclusive to the higher editions.
They also doubled down on the FOMO, and made even more launch edition exclusive items.
Gotta assume they will still try and ask for US$59.99 on the base game, so how much will these scale up in price?
They could have went the whole way here and revealed the pricing, but that would bring too much negativity most likely. No doubt they want people to see this and get it stuck in their heads that they want or need it, and then they reveal the prices next week at release and it's insane.
If I had to take a guess, I'd say it will be as follows -
59.99 - Base Game
69.99 - Deluxe Edition
99.99 - Ultimate Edition
119.99 - Complete Edition
And these numbers could very well be on the low side. Typically the Deluxe Edition is like ~80, but I can't see how they can charge 80 for what is included in the Deluxe as it is. The deluxe just isn't very tempting as it is.
I imagine most people did buy Deluxe editions previously, and this is their way to push those people up into the higher Ultimate tier, which will likely cost significantly more. I guess the one bright spot is that they didn't appear to lock any costumes behind Launch Week only, but this is actually worse with what they've done I think.
Edit: Looks like there is a Launch Week locked costume. Appears that the Van Mishy costume is shown in the image that I missed.
I'm a bit surprised by them removing specific Z1 costumes and locking them behind higher packages. I'm not at all shocked they lock things like Grimcat Renne behind Ultimate.
Still, just extremely anti-consumer behavior here and downright shameful.
Haha, they really did this. Nisa has already posted the full information on editions and the Grimcat outfit for Renne includes in the Ultimate edition.
Oh, god. Did you see the actual price for the Ultimate Edition? RIP, indeed, if that is the case. I can totally see the Complete Edition costing that, but if the Ultimate is then I will be very disappointed.
I'd have guessed Daybreak 2 Ultimate Edition would be around $100. Priced in between the old Deluxe and Ultimate Editions from Daybreak 1. Daybreak 2 Deluxe is missing costume packs, which is normally included with Deluxe Editions, and the Daybreak 2 Ultimate Edition doesn't have any of the consumables which significantly increase the price.
NISA and their ridiculous pricing might be forcing me onto the off ramp with this series, but maybe that's for the best. I was okay paying ~US$80 to get the game and the costumes, but this is just a new low for NISA.
EDIT: And just for reference, the CLE version has a Deluxe Edition for US$83 and that includes the DLC bundle which is everything except consumables. You can also buy the DLC bundle for $32 separately.
Now, admittedly the CLE version doesn't have the Japanese exclusive costumes like Grimcat Renne and Mishy Van, but how much are those worth? This "Ultimate" Edition from NISA better be priced at ≤$100...
Actually I played the Kuro 1 Eng Patch after buying the NIS Japanese Kuro no Kiseki version here first, then when the game got the English localization I just removed the patch.
Kuro 2 don't have this.
And, I'm pretty sure Reverie was the same actually they didn't add options before release, which is a shame really. I like to buy stuff early.
