LOLCOWLISATION / TRANSLATION errors and re-writes MEGA-THREAD... CRIMSON SiN edition
It's that time again, we all know how it's gonna go at this point.

Starting the thread up early this time as we now have advertisements and demo's out with text we can use already.

Again, use this as a place to post all changes made by the people at NISA, along with any other text related bugs (incorrect item/craft descriptions etc) or issues you stumble across, as god knows NISA don't have an internal QA team that will do it.

I myself probably won't interact much on this thread as Kuro 2 absolutely sucks ass (3/10 on a good day) , and i have better games to spend my limited time on, but still wanted to see the abominations that NISA made on this entry regardless. (i can already think of multiple things they will change in this entry and have my bingo sheet ready!!)

Massive o7 to all of you brave soldiers who will put up with the game not only with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ translation, but also the horrendous dub aswell to collect this info.

You people are heroes among men.

[SPOILERS WILL NOT BE HIDDEN]

If anyone wants to play with fan patch you can download the version I updated for Daybreak II.

Create a mods folder where exe is and drop this in. I couldnt test it since I dont own the game but it should work in theory. I decrypted CLE files using kurotools and repackaged it so it would work with Daybreak II's mod loader.

People that work in the localization/translation business and work on games are the problem because they hate the audience and the media they actively ruin. "Faithful" my ass. If they have zoomer lingo like rizz, fr or any of that stuff along with cringe humor it is infact NOT faithful.
Nisa localisations are typical woke garbage. Fan translations are much more accurate and even AI would do better job.
It's Japanese game. Woke/american slang is last what we need.

I love these "translation bad" by people who speak zero actual Japanese and rely on machine translation to tell them what it's "meant to mean" despite not understanding Japanese sentences typically have several unwritten meanings and sentences.

When you people only show case the individual sentence itself, without the context surrounding the sentence, you reveal how little you understand Japanese.

I didn't know it is required to know Japanese in order to be sure that the character would NEVER say "rizz" :trump:

I have to say, I'm genuinely enjoying the translation here from NISA.

I don't know why people are having some issue with that Nadia line with "rizz" in it. I saw it yesterday in game, and I don't even know what it means, but it sounded like something she'd say and Swin's response to it was great.

I'm really having a fantastic time reading this, and the NISA staff that brought us this faithful translation truly deserve a pat on the back.

Not everyone is Amerilard. English didn't originate in USA or Africa.

I don't even know what that means, but since I see in your profile that you have an American Flag icon flanked by two thumbs down icons, I'd guess that you probably have some sort of hatred for the United States.

Yeah, everybody is going on about this "rizz" thing without mentioning that Nadia was immediately ridiculed for saying it...

Still have no idea what that means. Maybe I'm just not on the internet enough? I don't know.

Don't worry, NISA will teach you all the newer slangs through localisations of theirs.

A simple google with tell you that. It's the ability attract someone through flirt; it can also be used to describe someone's charm or attractiveness.

The problem is it's a newish contemporary slang. We don't know if the phrase will still be relevant 3 or 5 years from now. Including a plethora of urban dictionary slangs will make the game feel outdated. Using too much of these also breaks immersion.

I can agree on your previous points on the localizer having better sentence structures or more enjoyable to read. This is excellent for reading items like the collectibles books or the newspaper. My problem with the NISA translator is these lines feel like they come out of a single person's life experience representing multiple characters and NPCs, whereas Falcom's script treat every single one of them differently as individuals, with characteristics and nuances.

You, along with the people translating it this way, are the problem.
