Game doesn't launch, give me a fix or refund!

Game isn't launching (nothing happens) ever since the new DLC broke the game.

I was able to launch it using the old version but since yesterday, my game auto updated to the newest patch and I can't select the old version from the "Betas"section and I can't access the game anymore.

Please fix the damn game or give me a refund, it's not cheap!

-Guys, try this first:

1. Right-click Age of Mythology HD in Steam library.
2. Select Properties.
3. Go to the third tab called Local Files.
4. Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
5. Try playing the game now.

-If that doesn't fix it, try this fix for if Microsoft C++ Redists didn't install properly:
1. Go to your control panel for add/remove programs.
2. Uninstall all versions of 2012 Microsoft C++ Redistribs.
3. Uninstall all versions of 2013 Microsoft C++ Redistribs.
4. Uninstall all versions of 2015 Microsoft C++ Redistribs.
5. Navigate to: \Steam\steamapps\common\Age of Mythology\_CommonRedist\vcredist
6. In the 2012 folder, if you are 64-bit OS, install only x64 version, and right-click run as admin.
7. In the 2013 folder, if you are 64-bit OS, install only x64 version, and right-click run as admin.
8. In the 2015 folder, if you are 64-bit OS, install only x64 version, and right-click run as admin.
9. Try playing the game now.

I erased all versions of redistribs and then installed 2012 and 2013 successfully but 2015 won't install, there is an error: "0xc8000222 - Unspecified error"

-Great! So that might be your problem which is outside the game. Try this:

The problem was basically of Windows Update. Windows update was not working properly and
asking for "check for updates" was giving error "service not running" where service was running properly.

So to sort out that issue I ran following commands and windows update problem sorted out and in turn visual studio 2010 problem also.

Click Start
Type: cmd
Right click on cmd in start menu and select 'Run as Administrator'
Type: net stop wuauserv
Hit Enter
Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old
Hit Enter
Type: net start wuauserv
Hit Enter
Type: exit

I erased all versions of redistribs and then installed 2012 and 2013 successfully but 2015 won't install, there is an error: "0xc8000222 - Unspecified error"

The problem was basically of Windows Update. Windows update was not working properly and
asking for "check for updates" was giving error "service not running" where service was running properly.

So to sort out that issue I ran following commands and windows update problem sorted out and in turn visual studio 2010 problem also.

Click Start
Type: cmd
Right click on cmd in start menu and select 'Run as Administrator'
Type: net stop wuauserv
Hit Enter
Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old
Hit Enter
Type: net start wuauserv
Hit Enter
Type: exit
Hit Enter

I did what you said, my windows updates have installed and I still get the error for redistributale 2015 (0x80240017)..

And honestly, why do I have to bother with all these redistributales suddenly.. Before DLC came out, my AOM was getting stuck on launch in order to install them and I just removed the installscript and it worked just fine...

8. Go to the compatability tab and try setting it to win8 and try playing again. If that doesn't work, try it on win7 and try playing again.

I made all you said, but when i click on play it start but then return to desktop sayng Aom has stopped working, how can i fix it?
