Hello, since few months after searching a way to launch AOM again, now when i launch the launcher, the process still here but nothing happen (except the profile who say i'm on the game). Waiting for a response.

Well,I bought AOM with tales of dragon DLC last tuesday afternoon here on steam... I had install it and when the game is ready..I click start button but it still not happen nothing... My pc has

6GB RAM DDR5

2GB VIDEO CARD

CPU Intel core 2 quad 9400 with 2.66 GHZ

O.s. Win 8.1 pro 64bit

I can't do anything with any Redistributable C++, progress bar is just stuck when i either repair/install/uninstall

Sorry I missed these threads. Let's see if we can figure out what is going on. My overall thought is immediately with the change to the DRM. I do not believe you can rename aomx.exe to launcher.exe to bypass it anymore, although I haven't tried that. It used to be a good workaround to identifying actual crashes or missing dlls for the redistributables, but I believe you must use the launcher now, because the signed executable is expected to be called aomx.exe and that's controlled by the Steam admin settings.

So is that what is going on? I've also just resurrected patch 2.3 and 2.4 in the beta's tabs but they are all signed under the new DRM system.

We were forced to switch because the old DRM solution was removed by Valve, so we're using their new one.

-Following morness's post, try these in order:

-Guys, try this first:

1. Right-click Age of Mythology HD in Steam library.
2. Select Properties.
3. Go to the third tab called Local Files.
4. Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
5. Try playing the game now.

-If that doesn't fix it, try this fix for if Microsoft C++ Redists didn't install properly:
1. Go to your control panel for add/remove programs.
2. Uninstall all versions of 2012 Microsoft C++ Redistribs.
3. Uninstall all versions of 2013 Microsoft C++ Redistribs.
4. Uninstall all versions of 2015 Microsoft C++ Redistribs.
5. Navigate to: \Steam\steamapps\common\Age of Mythology\_CommonRedist\vcredist
6. In the 2012 folder, if you are 64-bit OS, install only x64 version, and right-click run as admin.
7. In the 2013 folder, if you are 64-bit OS, install only x64 version, and right-click run as admin.
8. In the 2015 folder, if you are 64-bit OS, install only x64 version, and right-click run as admin.
9. Try playing the game now.

-If it is still not working, let's do some troubleshooting:

1. Disable your antivirus for an hour.
2. Make sure window's update is up-to-date.
3. Navigate to \Steam\steamapps\common\Age of Mythology and locate "Launcher.exe".
4. Right-click it and run-as administrator. If the launcher pops up, click play. If it doesn't work then continue:
5. Navigate to \Steam\steamapps\common\Age of Mythology and locate "aomx.exe".
6. Right-click it and run-as administrator. If the launcher pops up, click play.
7. If it still isn't working and you haven't gotten any cool error messages, try right-clicking aomx.exe and selecting properties.
8. Go to the compatability tab and try setting it to win8 and try playing again. If that doesn't work, try it on win7 and try playing again.

Well your explication is good, but concern only OS and those who are in W8, i'm in W7 x64 :/, right now i verifying the game cache. For unistall all C++ it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ too long + sometime it's buggy because it's say *preparation for unistallation* ( i have all C++ since 2005) :/ for 10 minutes at least :/ And the 6,7,8 steps, i don't really understand :/
