Custom screen resolutions?
Does anyone know a way to add custom screen resolutions to AOM:EE? There were ways to do so with the original but none of them seem to work with the extended edition. I have a 1920x1200 monitor but the highest 16x10 resolution that the game supports is 1400x900, without any option of using 16x9 resolutions with black bars.
ps. I apologize if this has already been asked, but I couldnt find any discussions about resolutions.

I'm running mine 16x10 at 1680x1050. It's in the Video Resolution choices.

Not sure if this works, but please try:
- Navigate to the AOM installation folder (right-click the game in library -> Properties -> Local files -> Open local files)
- Open the Users folder, then open Default.prf with a text editor
- Find the two resolution tags in it, for example:
<resolution>1920</resolution>
<resolutiony>1080</resolutiony>
- Replace with what you need, save, and try to start the game.

PS: BTW, just in case we aren't missing anything, did you scroll the list of game resolutions down with mouse wheel? It might be there.

That's the highest resolution in the original game, not much value added there :S

You could also try updating graphics drivers.

What kind of cable is it? DVI or HDMI?

StepS I found the file that you mentioned and tried changing the values, but they kept resetting back to 1440 by 900 everytime I started the game. And yeah I scrolled to the bottom.
Fluoridated It's HDMI and my drivers are updated. It's wierd because you could edit files to add custom resoultions to the options menu in the original game, but it doesnt seem like that's possible in this version.
In conclusion, I'm still stuck :/

You should be able to define custom resolutions by setting launch options like the following:
xres=1920 yres=1080

Thanks for the response Ryz0n. Ok, I found out the problem... I had my desktop resolution set at 1400x900 like usual, which doesnt stop me from playing almost any game in 1920 x 1200 in fullsreen mode. It looks like AoM is the exception, and I was able to set it to higher resolutions after setting my desktop res to 1920x1200. Sorry for the inconvenience guys.
