Age of Mythology: Extended Edition

Download problems?
I preloaded the game and it downloaded fine at 1 mb/s. When I went to update it to play, it said the unpacking would take 35 hours so I waited about 15 minutes and no progress had been made. I decided to delete the local content and redownload the game but now it won't download past 7% and steam says that my disk is busy despite not having anything going other than steam. I've already ran scans on the disk and I defragged it recently. Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

Let it do the unpacking. The more powerful your CPU the faster it will take the encryption off.

I had already deleted by the time I posted the first, now when I try to redownload the game, it won't download past 7percent.

Uninstall the game and have another go.

Again, that's what I already did and the download won't go past 7%. I've tried canceling and restarting the download muliptle times and restarting my computer.

Reset Steam files.

How?

Try Googling it.
This is completely ridiculous. To download the thing today, instead of waiting on this darn unpacking bull, would've been faster than waiting for this. No reason to "pre-load" lesson learned. What a joke.

I reset steam files and it didn't fix the issue.

I am having the exact same problem. I get to 237.5 MB and it stops downloading but continues to use the disk. I had the game installed successfully on my last computer, but there have been no OS changes, and all my other steam games downloaded and installed just fine.

This thread was when the pre-load was de-crypting on the first day, so you would be having a different issue.

You should try going into your files on the computor and find any existing files in steam that have AOM EX and remove them. go to "program files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common" and also "program files (x86)>Steam>steam>games" and find any existing files on AOM EX. delete those. it won't remove the game from your purchases, just the computor hard drive, then try installing it. I had a similar issue, and this worked perfectly. the computor is likely having an issue finding disk space because there are already files existing. free up that space and the download should move smoothly.
