Tale of the Dragon ep6 Realm of the Dead - What's up with the dead city?

In the top left corner there is a city of the dead with shades in it. They actually called out to me to come save them. I see no way of interacting with any of it. The three playthroughs I found online hadn't even explored that corner of the map. What is it?

If you destroy the towncenter on the ridge I belive just north of there the shades join your side, as do a few of those Jaingxi

I destroyed all of them (wouldn't have finished the episode otherwise) but didn't notice any. Eh, might be more of the bugs.

There is a small snowy area off to the right from the top of the walled area where the shades and the houses are. Walk up and around the spiral, fight off the bad guys and gain control of the Healing Spring. Then the shades join you.
