How do we use relics, as in get them into a temple for use?

You use a hero to pickup the relic (right click on relic with hero selected then on the temple). Temples can hold only a number of relics, to hold more than that just build more temples, and store relics in them. Some relics are goofs, but some if used wisely can grant you a victory.

It's probably worth noting that priests require research (hands of the pharaoh, from temple) to be able to pick up relics, and Chinese monks can't at all.

Dont chinese have immortals as heroes? Atlantean can convert any human units into heroes, and norse has specific hero units (some of even myth hybrids), greeks have special unique heroes... so it really depends on situation. I rarely had a chance to grab a relic in MP, but on few ocasions it was a game changer, like obtaining a relic that benefited food production right from the start, or grabbing a relic that helped with favor (and i play as atlantean gettin favor is slooow) which since is play as kronos specializing in myth, helped me spam automatons like there is no tommorow!

The relics don't make a huge difference in most cases. -10% villager cost, +20 food carry capacity, +10% villager speed are the major ones. The caravan one too, but only if the game goes on that long. Still, for a bit of hero walk time it's not exactly terrible in terms of investment to pick one up.

Yes, for Chinese immortals are the way to carry relics.

Yer forgetting the faster unit production, or damage boost, which can effectively make yer army OP, and some relics give aditional units (like lions) which are not only good for scouting and harrasment, but also good for "stealth" operations, since they are usually ignored!
