Ra
It is well known that I spend a lot of time complaining about Ra, and how ridiculously strong he is however a few people have disagreed.

Based on the current EEL standings (if we take them to be 16 of the strongest players currently playing, 5/16 of them are using Ra (by far the most represented civ). Already 3 of the 6 players through to the last 8 are using Ra, with the potential for another two to get through making it 5/8 playing Ra. It looks likely to be that the final 2 players in the knockout rounds will both be playing Ra based on who is still in the winners bracket.

Surely these stats speak for something? Open discussion, curious as to what people think.

I know the reasons why Ra is so strong, but why did this topic just come up in the last months?
There was no balance update for the last 7 decades. Last EEL season Ra was not that present iirc.

The reason for it is because he was one of the OG 9 gods and everyone thinks its counterable. But since china is new everyone is hating on it. or at least the noobs are

No one even knew EEL existed, until this season. Thanks to me, I pm'd about half the players who signed up for it this time.

Might want to check your facts. Here's all the changes from original to latest EE. http://www.forgottenempires.net/aom/changelog

Even without balance changes there's no reason why people can't try new things and find that they work, leading to meta shifts over time.

What is EEL?

the ra influx just has to do with a top player named kimo being at the very top right now, and he plays ra. doesn't mean he's OP though. You need to see EEL more as an amateur league or upcoming players league, they're gonna be the future for aom. they just happen to have a bunch of ra players among them. funny fact is aries used to play ra back in the eso days either way, it has nothing to do with balance changes.

learn the match up properly, download voobly and the old aot, start watching new and old recs, and use your new knowledge on EE or voobly, done deal. you'll see that the current ra players have plenty of flaws and is easier to beat than you might think.

what's so impressive is that kimo is at the top right now with ra, cause ra was never really a tier 1 1v1 god, but kimo made a way for it to happen through pure skill and awakening ra's latent power through 5k+ hours of practice, try that with any god, and we'll see hades, poseidon, gaia, kronos, or any god you wanna rise to the top with at the very top of the mountain, king of aot and beyond.

the tier 1 gods are just more fleshed out than the other gods, the so called "weaker gods" just haven't been properly fleshed out and studied on yet by a majority of the community. mista for example just brought to our attention in the last year that odin is very strong.(which many of you would never believe for some reason when I told you odin was strong) stop being sheeps, and be the wolf, walk forward, watch recs, look for your own mistakes, improve yourself, master yourself, innovate new metas. and be the champion

awwwwwwwwwwww where's the honesty :( :****(

People play the civ that's the strongest depending on the game's balance. We saw this with all of Voobly's patches, with the first patch everyone was playing Loki, then with the 2nd patch everyone was playing Gaia, Odin, etc. On EE, Ra is the strongest, this is why everyone plays Ra.

About Kimo, he plays on both the original game and on voobly's recent patch and he specifically said that he would play Magic on the original game using Oranos but would use Ra if they wanted to use voobly's recent patch. Basically he wants to play the strongest civ depending on the game's balance. Just like ee players, they wanna play the strongest civ, which currently is Ra.

Even Thomas Shelby a Loki player, went with Ra for this tournament.

EE is not top players, so your argument is irrelevant. EE is pretty balanced except for the contarious hero and norse in teamgames
