Random in-game freezes
Hello guys, i've a little problem since i downloaded the game and i don't think that's normal. In game (even on the main screen), my game is freezing for like a micro second and come back to normal. Seems not a problem, sure, for a while. But when you're in a game and this happen every 8 seconds, that's boring.

Can somebody tell me what's wrong with my game ? Is anybody encounter this problem ?
Thanks !

Could be that your pc cant handle the stress EE puts on it. This game is much more cpu/gpu intensive than it should be.

This is happening to me too. Age of mithology extended edition freezes for a second, at the beginning it starts with some minutes apart, then it happens every 5 seconds more or less.
if i closes the game and restart it, the problem disappears and reappear randomly. Sometimes it happens again, sometimes it doesnt.

Im on windows 10

Confirmed. I play a random map on skirmish and then immediately after I start directing peasants the micro freezing/stutter fires up.

It has nothing to do with the "stress" of the game. I'm running the game on an i9 9900k with an RTX 2080 with 32 gigs of ram.

It's the legit copy of the game that does this. Interestingly enough the pirated version of the game doesn't do this.
Has a fix for this problem been found? I am having this problem as well.

SOLUTION!!!
Check your antivirus.
I recently put MalwareBytes on my machine to do some cleaning, found a thread where someone said they disabled their ransomeware protections or just tried disabling MalwareBytes and it worked for them.

I told MalwareBytes not to run it's protections on my steam folder, and now this game runs perfectly!

If some hackers are able to target me and ruin my entire life because of my irrational almost lustful love for Age of Mythology, then so be it.
They steal my identity at their own risk.

I've never written anything for a steam support thread before, so idk if you will get notifications from my post, or only if you are quoted.
This problem really bummed me out, so I'm trying to make sure you all know there is hope.

I can confirm that tweaking Malwarebytes works. It's not hardware related.:steamfacepalm:
This isn't the year 2003. Give me a break.
