SNOWBREAK

Not usually into anime games so....
I came across this by accident on steam and saw YouTube gameplay. I saw tags saying online co-op, so is it worth buying and do you need a permanent online connection to always play this or is there offline play too? Thanks.

I see have been getting positive and negative from RANDOS (In the words of the simpsons haha), I will definately give this a go as it looked fun from the iyoutube gameplay, although i did seee gameplay of non english, i think it was KOREAN? i may be wrong? the play i saw was of a anime girl running along shooting and shouting something non english,
it did look good though :) Thanks all

It's a strictly PvE game and you don't need to buy anything to clear all the contents. 50-60 pulls for a 5* character so it's a fair gacha rate. I'm lvl 60+ now and still haven't seen the lvl 50 break point anywhere so probably a hoax or skill issue.

Anyway I'd say give it a try. If it's not your game then uninstall it and gtfo. Better than staying here and being swayed by opinions from randoms on the internet.

Cool. This looks a lot different to Undawn as the two look simialr except Undawn was farming supplies and Zombies

That guy must be frustrated about something. I have all the characters in the game and a good amount of 5 star weapons without spending. I've only bought a skin but that doesn't change my gameplay. You can definitely have fun and don't ever spend in this game.

You're using Undawn as a comparison to this game.
Upon reading all the discussions at hand, I've come to my conclusion that you wouldn't like the game for many reasons.
  1. You don't like/or are not into anime.
  2. This game is visual novel based with few cutscenes.
  3. You prefer buying stuff that you want to own. This game uses a gacha model.
  4. You talk about pay-to-win
  5. P2W advertisment in your face.
(Literally every F2P game does that. Stick to singleplayer games.)
  6. Online Co-Op is just about 20 runs of same 2 maps and with events it can be expanded but different dungeon. It's not really worth playing with friends in an hours worth.

RPG games are about levelling up and looting the resources to level up the said requirements and customise your character. It's literally in every games nowadays to prolong your game and waste time grinding.

I suggest you refrain from trying it out and wasting your time and your limited data connection via Hotspot.

Others would say you should just try it out but you would have already without second thoughts but you did ask anyway so you're doubtful. I'm sorry to say this is not your kind of game, you'll just be disappointed when its not your ideal game and you'll just end up giving a negative review out of it for something you don't like because you were coerced by the community.

Your ideal game
The game you're looking for should be around like this:

FOR SINGLE PLAYER OFFLINE:
Singleplayer, Shooter, Arcade/Realistic Shooter, RPG/Action RPG/Adventure RPG/First-Person/Third-Person Shooter
You'll have to pay for a game and then its truly yours and they'll never shove ads anymore unless new content of DLCs. Which usually happens months+ an old game mostly is completed without DLCs.

FOR MULTIPLAYER ONLINE W/FRIENDS or RANDOMS:
Multiplayer, Online Co-Op, PvP, Arcade/Realistic Shooter, First-Person/Third-Person Shooter, MMO/Action RPG/Adventure RPG
They'll still shove their ads from you to sell their products in order to maintain the servers, its their company's authority to do so whether you like it or not.
IF it has a story, it'll either have a stamina system or a daily system limit to prevent you from progressing ahead than the ones who came before you.
Most online games already have lootboxes to prevent players getting what they want in an instant slowing their progression through RNGs. Its already a proven money making tactic in the gaming industry whether we like it or not. Go back into singleplayer games if you don't like any of these online elements of microtransactions.

In the end gaming is a business for entertainment. If you don't like paying then you should be set sailing off the seas with the black flag. Doing that won't give you a future sequel to the games you like and support the developers you like provided you have any.

WOW thats a long list. Appreciate the reply anywho.

Compare

i am only comparing it 2 Undawn because Undawn was pay2win, although I didn't go off undawn and complain and give negative reviews. I loved it for months, i played over 150-2000 hours according to my steam. (I think) but I did grind away and play P2P events whether i got walloped or not.

Anime

I am into Anime, i watched over 70 anime on TV last year, who said i didn't like Anime, I said Im not really in to anime games theres a difference, I never said I dont like anime TV, I did watch a YouTube clip of game-play and said it looked decent and pretty good.

Games
I like story type games, and or visual novel I have all sorts of games in my steam library and non steam library from racing to Online Only, to Adventure to Story games, to peaceful non fighting games to singe player offline games to platform games :) I played PILFER THE STORY OF LIGHT and loved that and thats story and Plafforms :)

I played Last Remnant in 2009, granted its not ANIME but its got that Anime Type Art with the characters and the Magic.

Yes I mention pay2win but somebody in this forum area said you dont have to and can just play :)

P2WIN

OK so P2WIN in my face, cant be worse than UNDAWN that was in my face too :)

I might check out more youtube play but I did add the game to my library already to get ready to download it, its only 12GB not too bad, Google was wrong it said 20GB.

Bad Review?

Why would I do that? Give a bad rewiew because others coerced me? I give out muy share of reviews on games on if I like them and hooked and what I like and dont like and if i have issues :)

I love games where you level up and loot, UNDAWN did that, Path of Exile I played that was months and loved that. I finished ACTS 1-10 four times with 4 different characters and that was CO OP and online and was fun for months until i grew tired of the game.

the only thing this game has over Undawn is the outfits - unlike Undawn, the outfits you get are VERY close to the promo pictures in the storefront. My main disappoint with Undawn is the outfits look great in storefront and are meh at best when worn.

The Snowbreak outfits are probably the ONLY "credit where it is due" point to give them.
Everything else is very .. 'eh it functions - I guess' type of quality

Play the game, come and talk in official discord, if there is anything you want to know. I have been playing since day 1, and still missed some important mechanics in the combat people there helped me reach top 1% leaderboard. So it's better if you come interacting.

After this long post I went to YouTube and I watched gameplay with commentary, the guy playing it was funny but he said it's a great anime girl game third Person Shooter.

I stared download a bit today but not much as I have 3 other games to download in my queue like just cause 4

It it can't be played offline. It's not worth my time. Devs could shutdown the servers whenever they want and the game would no longer function with all work going down the drain.

Thats what i always thought with online games, yolu could spend months and months building up a level 100 character then all of a siudden the devs decide to pull the plug, there goes the servers, the game, your hours of levelling, and you cant do anything and its all wasted when you could have played an offline game
