Does anyone else get annoyed by the faceless male MC?

Most gacha games to my knowledge let you swap your MC's gender freely but this one forces you to be a male MC, and he doesn't even have a face. And its just really funny how all the girls fall madly in love with him near instantly. Every time i see them simping for him i just want to laugh.

Other gacha games allow female MCs but make more money than snowbreak. So clearly, male MCs only are not required to make money.

Why do you keep bringing other gachas? Each got their own niche, if you don't find enjoyment in Snowbreak then i dunno maybe stop playing?

Because people here keep saying "the game needs a faceless male MC to make money" but i provided proof that it does not. Other gacha games dont need a faceless male MC to make money, proving it is not mandatory.

Out of those I think it's just nikke, it's pretty rare for these kind of games to have a MC set in stone, the vast majority either never show it, have a gender neutral look, or let you choose an appearance.

do like customisation for characters but also get why thats not always a thing in games and when they do get added its often pretty poor quality so unless going to make a descent quality character customizer typically fine with a descent default character

I hope you're not implying logistics sell, nobody's playing the game for those. The reason they all got turned to female is the usual scary 3 letters that our eastern brethren are so obsessed with.

This is a game created by the Chinese. The main protag is supposed to be faceless so you can self insert yourself as him also I dont care about genders if players have issues then that is them problem so long it doesnt have garbage DEI in it and more mentally ill things lool

if you're referring to hsr, genshin, or zzz or even wuwa those games are from already esablished companies and are bound to make money regardless.

Reverse 1999 has a female MC yet does comparable and sometimes higher numbers than Snowbreak if the charts are to be believed. Plenty of other games that give you the choice or straight up don't have a male MC do respectable numbers as well. There's more to this than just "big company is big"

To provide proof you have to give game names and income levels as well as your source of information.

But the devs have fully committed to the male only MC character arc and that's reflected in the main story.. changing it now to a female MC might be too late and will not fit the story & relationships going forward. If there is ever a Snowbreak 2 I wouldn't mind a female MC and maybe exploring Yuri topics.

I dont think they can do it because of CCP censorship anyway. They cant be seen to be promoting LGBT topics. I just saw a chinese yuri webtoon and even kissing scenes between girls have to be censored lol.
