Feedback sent, but this game is dead to me without it (in case they read these forums, too. lol).
So I guess this is goodbye. Ah well, it looks like it could have been a great game. 🤷♂️
A> I'm not sure how to do that and I DEF don't want to enable my controller to control Windows, like Steam forced on everyone a couple of years ago.
B> The devs are going to want money from me to pay for the good content their game. They can fix it.
Can I do that for JUST this game? Otherwise I have to change every other game I own back to "Normal" (why it's called that when nobody uses it is anybody's guess).
EDIT: Giving it a try. Gotta reinstall before I can test it, tho.
Each game has its own controller profile. There is community sharing tab too you can see controller layouts made by other players and download it, you can choose to enable steam input on specific games, not the entire library. Everyone who bought steamdeck are using it by default, it's like a backbone of the entire steam ecosystem. It's normal that desktop pc player aren't familiar with it, I was too until I bought steamdeck.
I'm still breezing thru the first level stuff (just finished story mission 3, and started doing missions on Hard. I have a feeling those super powers will be handy before long.
There's also so many currencies, I don't know what I'm getting, but that will probably make sense in time.
The store page says this doesn't even have controller support, so who knows.
Anyway, I'll keep digging around. Thanks for the help!
Edit...
But it also works the pointer in menu , INVERTED Sadly.
Because steam input will overwrite the in-game setting.
If you are have LB and RB bind in steam input it should works fine.
This game has controller support and will switch to whatever input you are using(keyboard or gamepad key) you can look at ability icon HUD to make sure what type of input the game is receiving. If it shows E, means you are using keyboard input.
Go to your controller layout again(not in-game setting, I mean the same place where you get the invert Y working, and you don't have to close the game to edit it, edit through steam overlay or shift+tab to steam library)
It's up to you whether you want to use keyboard/gamepad input purely or combining both of them. I use both I bind right stick click as an ALT and directional pad as 1/2/3 for example to use ultimate ability shortcut(the Q ability)
There is a way to fix that
(This gonna be quite long but it's not as complicated as it looks, give this a try!), use Action set or layer, I will tell you how to use Layer it's the most simple one.
For now switch invert option to off.
Then following this steps
Edit layout-> Action sets -> click gear icon next to your default set -> add layer name it "gameplay" or whatever -> now try click RB/LB notice you can switch between default set and the layer you've created
let's edit right joystick under the 'gameplay' layer-> click gear icon next to 'right joystick behavior' -> switch on the invert vertical axis
Now you have to bind something to make steam input switch to this layer, I personally prefer long press left stick
Edit this Under 'default action' set,
Click gear icon next to left stick click -> add extra command -> under 'action sets' tab, click 'Hold Action Set Layer' it should automatically select 'gameplay' layer by default because we have only one, now click confirm -> click gear icon next to the new command we've created -> change 'regular press' to long press
Done! After that you can click gear icon and setting to adjust long press time by yourself
Now that you've bind a key to hold that layer, let's bind the same key so that whenever you press the same key again, it will cancel the toggle of layer.
Edit this under 'gameplay' layer,
It should have 'Joystick(inherited)' as default setting -> click gear icon -> click 'hold action set layer (gameplay)' -> under 'Action sets' tab, select 'Remove Action Set Layer', DONE
This means you can now create completely different keybind sets I have like 3 action sets for gameplay, menu and the base.
One of the reason why I did this is because gamepad support of this game is kinda suck too, idk if it's fixed yet but I couldn't do either the tetris thingy in the base or chat system via controller input. so I had to create new action set for those purposes.
Yea, that's the problem using XBOX Accessories. With the Steam input, you can make changes for just that game, and everything goes back to "normal" once you quit.
