Select your operative and the "View Details." Scroll down the stats to Weapon and look at the DMG type. Fenny Lionheart and Haru The Ace are 4* Kinetic types

Also, you can click "Recommended" on that same screen to see the 4* and 5* recommended weapons as well as what logistics to use

I'd recommend not buying those guns, they're overpriced IMO. There's better use for you silver.

most of those buyable purple guns I would pass on. but there are a few good ones that you should get. mainly ones that have an effect as a support weapon.
strawberry shortcake, prismatic igniter, lapis lazuli, deep sea's call, wave, for example boosts the current operator's dmg when the operator's (who's equipping these weapons) support is used. thus giving a small dmg boost. I think it's also stackable if you have 2 operators using different weapons but both support skills are used.

Wow! Thanks to your pointer, I just stumbled upon this ahem feature too.
I'm just listing all the effects here from the archives that have (at least by their description) an effect on other players/your other operatives in some way or another. The skill descriptions are sometimes difficult to understand, so I tried to summarise them. Maybe someone else will find this helpful, otherwise it's just for my own reference.

I'll just use the max rank values here.

Ballistic - your gun damage.
Kinetic, Fire, Cold, Dark and lighting usulally applied only to skills/ultimate.
The best damage type is Kinetic since it can destroy components/shields faster, but anything else does more damage and applies effects.

Kinetic damage is similar to an "element" and does additional damage to energy shields (The white health bar)
Components are treated as objects and are not affected by kinetic in any special way. They can cause shots to ricochet, which makes certain weapons better at destroying them than others.
gigamelon1981 Jul 27, 2024 @ 12:19am
'Kinetic damage' is like Non elemental attack.
Note if it is different from 'Ballistic damage' which is your gun or standard attack damage regardless of your current elemental using. Ballistic damage doesn't cover your Normal skill, or Ultimate skill damage. Unless it says so, or the skill are supportive type, not the direct damage one.
The naming convention is rather weird, i also had difficulties to understand those.

Here's a good spreadsheet of terms that define what things are as well as explain other systems: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GZd1apK2h-3CfJBI1BbGGxr1y9pBmFN2NI-fDvjrbUk/edit?gid=0#gid=0

There's also this beginner guide that also goes into details as well as details for each operator: https://coda.io/@flux-kairos/snowbreak-containment-zone-beginners-guide
