Getting a lot of stutters on PC. Is this normal?
I’m getting a lot of stuttering on PC and I’m wondering if the game isn’t optimized well or there’s a setting that usually causes big drops?

I’ve got a 9900K paired with a 2080 so I don’t think it should be the hardware causing the issue since the graphical fidelity isn’t that high.

Yes, its shader stutter. You will face it every time you update your driver.

I have noticed that when watching people play the game, but when im playing it, I don't see that issue, only thing I can think of is im using Linux and it uses proton and proton compiles things before the game launches so it's completely smooth when playing.

After the game updates I do find the game stuttering a bit. But all stuttering is gone after like 5-10 seconds of entering into a new zone for a first time.
I suspect that new content containing files are being extracted/cached when first seen by a system and after that no more stuttering.

Try this
Doesn't fix anything game still stutters every 0.5-2secs every time i'm entering into new or semi new area. Game is absolutely unplayable unless you play same map over and over again.

EDIT: Fixed it finally by adding Vulkan Glapsync that replaces garbage dx11. Damn it's so smooth now however cpu usage is also now much higher (which will make your max fps drop to 100fps) but i will take some drops instead of constant stutters to 0fps for split second.

Devs did not implement shader prewarming. This should be done at loading screens, but not.
Fresh and new Wuthening Waves also have the same issue. Seems UE4 devs become extremely lazy about this.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3254337923 made guide to fix the stutters and performance. Wuthening should also be fixable with DXVK devs are extremely incompetent if they just slap dx11 lazily and forget about any optimization. If you are that lazy then better use Vulkan.

I switched from Bordered Fullscreen to Windowed and that fixed all my fps and stuttering issues. Smooth as butter now. I'm now even able to use the High Quality preset from that reddit post.
