Dog And Cat Harvest, They Won't Stop
I love them and have four so far but now I'm trying to grow the giant crops and they make their way all the way across the map to harvest even though I don't want them to. Is there any way to turn them off or give them limits/areas of restriction? There's only water bots and a fertilizer bot nearby, no harvest, and I set Rusty and Haiku to have harvest as their lowest priority to try and maximize the time the crops sit there and these dastardly animals keep thwarting me

Giant crops I belive don´t appear post harvest stage but rather before. I got them on farms with dogs/cats and harvest bots near them maxxed out and still get them.

Ah, i see, i haven't actually seen the giant ones grow in real time so that is entirely possible. Still, I do wish there was a way to allow/disallow areas for the pets (and a screen for managing splunky directly but that's a different issue). I suppose it's also part of the game's nature though, to not be able to restrict them, to let them roam free and happy. Thank you though
I worried about this too but I was able to get all of the large crop achievements in about 30 hours of play just by planting full 4x4 fields of the crops I knew could grow "large." Unlike games like Stardew Valley where everything grows at once overnight, the crops in Rusty's Retirement grow continuously and always end up watered or harvested at spaced out intervals since inevitably the water bot will need to go to the well and leave four spaces unwatered, etc. Without keeping a close eye on my plots I can't say exactly what happens, but I don't think it's necessary for plants to be at the same stage of watering or growth to "join" into a giant crop. In fact, if Space is the Place is correct, your methods may actually be prohibiting giant crops since it's possible that fully grown crops just sitting there will never join.

I think, if anything, people are setting themselves up poorly by setting up a 2x2 square of tomatoes in one corner of a plot. If you grow a full 16 plot of tomatoes, you instead have several spots where the big tomato could spawn. I have had better luck focusing on proximity and quantity rather than hoping a small corner of the farm will proc something. Good luck!
