If you could run multiple farms at once or if offline progress was a thing, it would be okay but right now none of these things exist.
I'm 37 hours in, 45/55 achievements
2.6mil parts
467k biofuel
46.1k harvests
I've even done the 666 plot achievement and built on every available space. The time needed to get 1 million harvests is insane and very unbalanced! Fossil gains are also unbalanced imo.
Splunk will only choose the last 8 crops if there's no sign on a plot for which seed to plant, so the wheat strategy works as long as one remembers to put down signs. Honestly, it's what I'll probably do when I'm far enough to want to focus on that achievement. I do think fossils are annoying, just simply due to the fact that it's not explained that you need to rotate animal purchases to progress fossil gains (so cow/pig/cow/pig, so on and so on), and I know people only want one or the other sometimes.
I'm not far enough to see if the achievements are truly unbalanced, but considering it's an idle game, I don't expect every achievement to be do-able quickly. That said, the dev might move things around as time passes and he gets more feedback. The game is still new, he might just need time to fix and implement certain things.
I have the signs set up on all the plots and the plants planted do not relate to the signs at all. I think offline progression is the only way to get around the crazy amount of hours. I want to use my PC for other process heavy tasks that unfortunately I can't have that game open for as well balancing that between 100's of hours for 1 achievement just doesn't work for my unfortunately.
A lot of devs have a nasty habit of making some pretty stupid achievements. You gotta be on the lookout if you care about 100%.
I'd understand achievements that take long if it was skilled based or some other specific gimmick but this is time based. I think maybe they should've added achievements for 100 million spare parts earned and 10 million crops watered or something if they're going to have one achievement take so much longer.
