A million harvests seems a bit insane compared to everything else.
Roughly speaking my number of harvests is 1/10 the number of waterings and biofuel produced so it's going to take roughly 10 times as long to get this achievement as the ones for those actions. I get that the early crops harvest quick, but they also die quick which means constant attention. That doesn't seem like a great solution either. Am I missing something?

There are multiple maps, and it does say "across all farms".
SenorPollo Apr 28, 2024 @ 11:50am
That's still a lot, I completed the first map and I've been doing miscs (666 crops for example) and I'm at 35K harvests. I'll probably be at less than 500K harversts once I've done everything else. This is a terrible achievement.

If you could run multiple farms at once or if offline progress was a thing, it would be okay but right now none of these things exist.

This is an idle game; it is intended to have long-term goals
SenorPollo Apr 28, 2024 @ 12:16pm
It doesn't excuse badly scaled achievement, if you do everything else in 200 hours and have to wait 800 hours just for the last one, it's horrible design.

I dunno Pollo. I wasn't sure if I agreed with you or not, but this achieve seems specifically designed for you. You're an achievement hunter and have tens of thousands of hours in dozens of Idle games. If anyone is going to achieve this, it's you, not us.
SenorPollo Apr 28, 2024 @ 10:41pm
And thus I can tell you it's badly designed.
Nakyra Apr 28, 2024 @ 10:52pm
it indeed seems like the "last" achievement, I was doing the same and one the frist full map is around 25-35k harvest, maybe on later maps there are boost that makes it faster ?
SenorPollo Apr 28, 2024 @ 10:58pm
I highly doubt it, there's absolutely no complexity to this game, looks like to me the dev just slapped numbers on them. If there were boosts of some kind, the water/spare part achievements would be higher.

Hahaha, I have heard a strategy that to harvest a million crops you just fill the whole farm with wheat and leave the game running. And if you want to speed it up more then you can help planting wheat. If you really want the achievement

Except when you have the auto planter they will only plant your last 8 unlocked crops. So feasibly to do this you would need to build a farm to make enough money to unlock all plots, watering bots, harvesting bots etc. Without unlocking higher coin gaining crops. Manually just planting wheat is an option but also not feasible unless you want to stare at the game 12 hours a day.

I'm 37 hours in, 45/55 achievements
2.6mil parts
467k biofuel
46.1k harvests

I've even done the 666 plot achievement and built on every available space. The time needed to get 1 million harvests is insane and very unbalanced! Fossil gains are also unbalanced imo.

Splunk will only choose the last 8 crops if there's no sign on a plot for which seed to plant, so the wheat strategy works as long as one remembers to put down signs. Honestly, it's what I'll probably do when I'm far enough to want to focus on that achievement. I do think fossils are annoying, just simply due to the fact that it's not explained that you need to rotate animal purchases to progress fossil gains (so cow/pig/cow/pig, so on and so on), and I know people only want one or the other sometimes.

I'm not far enough to see if the achievements are truly unbalanced, but considering it's an idle game, I don't expect every achievement to be do-able quickly. That said, the dev might move things around as time passes and he gets more feedback. The game is still new, he might just need time to fix and implement certain things.

I have the signs set up on all the plots and the plants planted do not relate to the signs at all. I think offline progression is the only way to get around the crazy amount of hours. I want to use my PC for other process heavy tasks that unfortunately I can't have that game open for as well balancing that between 100's of hours for 1 achievement just doesn't work for my unfortunately.

If you're an achievement hunter you should be looking at the global achievement stats and take note of the "curve" before buying a game. Is it a sharp decline or a gradual one? Are there any that have <1%, or even 0%?

A lot of devs have a nasty habit of making some pretty stupid achievements. You gotta be on the lookout if you care about 100%.

Good point but most of the achievements were 0.1% when I bought the game on release day, can't really gauge that before hand when you are one of the first in the player base

Agree with pretty much every post in here. It's definitely bad design. Just arbitrarily assigning the achievement "one million" of whatever, when it's clearly not aligned with all the others in terms of effort/time spent.

I'd understand achievements that take long if it was skilled based or some other specific gimmick but this is time based. I think maybe they should've added achievements for 100 million spare parts earned and 10 million crops watered or something if they're going to have one achievement take so much longer.
