macOS version needs some more love

I'm loving the gameplay but the macOS version needs work. I bought this primarily to play on my Mac, but it's obviously Microsoft Windows focused.

Steam Cloud saves not being shared between PC & Mac platforms is a major concern. (This appears to have been fixed with the 1.0.7 release on 29-April-2024)

Also the in-game's settings terminology ("Taskbar" & "Sidebar") are Windows terms; however, macOS has a "Dock" and an almost always present "menu bar" at the top of the screen that the game doesn't play nice with).

The settings to shift the window up or left is nice, but it assumes you're putting the game window at the bottom or right side of your screen, so shifting it to the top or left side means entering offsets in the thousands.

As for the "Always on top" option, selecting that makes the game cover the Mac menu bar at the top of the screen (when the game's played with a vertical farm), which an application should never do. This could be mitigated with something like the "Taskbar" offset already in the game, if it would only accept negative numbers to shift the window down (instead of only up).

My ideal setup (which isn't possible with the game as it is now) would be playing a vertical farm on my Mac with its Dock on the left and the menu bar at the top, and the game configured to run on the left side of the screen, but adjusted ~right~ to avoid the Dock and ~down~ to avoid the menu bar (remember the game as it is now only allows you to shift ~left~ and ~up~), and the "Always on top" option would only force it to be above other windows but always ~under~ the Dock and menu bar.

Yeah it really doesn't play very well with multiple monitors either, it defaults to my MacBook screen instead of my (larger) external monitor and no matter the amount of forcing I go through it keeps reverting back to the laptop screen even though that one is set secondary. I've never encountered this before.

I saw a post from the developer that he is working on these things. Hopefully they will be solved soon.

bro here's a problem ,i can't work or use any other app while playing this game. it automaticly create a new desktop for me with no wallpaper or any app, why is that

I had the same problem the first time I launched the game. However, after a restart of the game I was able to make it appear alongside other apps on my main desktop like it's supposed to. I don't have any other advice than try launching it a couple times (maybe once you've created a save?). Good Luck! (macOS version of course)

Quite the same here, if I check the always on top option, it will stay on my secondary screen. I can't choose on which screen to display. If I untick the always on top option, I'm able to change from my secondary screen to my laptop screen by dragging the app (That is what I want in my case) but once the game is on the right screen the UI scales very badly as I can't access the menu on the right side... If I tick again the always on top option, the game will move on my secondary screen. It would be great to have these scenarios covered. As a game dev I need my other screens to work on and let the game on the laptop. Please :)

Not just you, I can't use keyboard shortcuts either. Also, my screen brightness up (corresponds to F1) and down keys (corresponds to F2) often just ignore my input. Sometimes it half-ignores me, with the overlay that shows the brightness levels and how I am changing it popping up, but there is no actual change to the brightness.

Yes. Not being able to select which screen it should be on, and the keyboard inputs being broken are really killing it for me. I can't play it on my Mac (which is where I work and want to play it) which is a real bummer.

The one time my screen brightness setting consistently work with this game open is when I go to the lowest possible level (screen off). After that, it consistently ignores me. I'm allowed to turn off my display, but not to turn it back on. The only way to get my display back is to shut off the computer with the power button. This is a very frustrating bug.
