Is bee keeping worth it? Or am I bee keeping wrong?
After spending alot of time on the first type of farm and only using crops and fertilizer, on my second farm I've been trying to use Bulb Hives and Butterfly Cages and alot of berry bushes, though it feels like its not worth using them, like the Biofuel the Bulb hives make is a tiny fraction of what crops and Biofuel Converters can already do, and way faster/cheaper.

So I'm wondering if anyone else notices how slow and inefficient the Bulblets are at making Biofuel, or If I'm doing something wrong with them, cause it seems like just placing a TON of crops and bots down is WAY better in general than trying to use Bulblets and butterflys.

The crops from the bushes are the real bonus; they have a much higher +biofuel when you put them into converters. It does seem strange that bulb hives make so little.

hey there, bee keeping is very worth it, the cycle works like this:
bulblets & butterflies boost your berry growth, shortening the time to grow
normally, it it takes 20-30 mins to grow, and gain 30-40 biofuel per berry, i was able to get a few hundred biofuel per berry cycle due to having many bushes planted. the butterflies only passively boost the growth speed, but bulb hives passively gain biofuel and even when they are ready to harvest, they still accumulate more, i was able to get 200 biofuel per harvest. (im currently at 170,000 biofuel)
also, this method means you dont need fertilizer and animals, and you dont need to upgrade water bots, just he harvest drone

So that makes me wonder, cause for me it still feels like the berry's arnt growing fast at all. Is it like the less berry bushes the fast they grow? cause all the bulblets and butterfly's would be effecting less overall stuff but focusing on only a few bushes?.. or an I just overthinking it.

Like for example, if there's a total of like 84 Bulblets and Butterflys, would the berry's on each bush grow faster if there were less bushes? so they focus more on the same plant? or am I just being really dumb and they are all just passively effecting every plant on the farm?

The best farm is the one you like the look of. There's no benefit to optimisation other than running out of things to do faster, which is the antithesis of the game's purpose.

So, if they both increase berry growth speed, what is the point of having both? Is the only difference between them that one produces biofuel passively? If that's the case, is the only purpose of butterflies to serve as a cheaper alternative as prices go up?

what does your layout look like? I've been trying to sort this out!

You can't get more bees. Bees only spawn with your Field Size (The more Fields you have, the more bees), so you can only increase Butterflies with normal buildings as the gain of Bees is only passive.

So, if the number of bees is determined solely on the number of 'field' spaces, does this mean there is no advantage to have multiple overlapping hives?
