Crashed when I hit the play button.

Oh okay, that is new to us. Which operating system do you use?
Common solutions are:
-Updating your graphic card driver.
-Updating directX Runtime (google for directX end-user runtime. this contains a lot of different useful versions.)
-Manually install the Prereq setup from unreal. Right click on our game in your library -> Properties -> browse files on your disc (installation folder). Go to this directory:
Steamapps/Common/Dire-FleshAndPhobia/Engine/Extras/Redist/en-us and open the UEPrereqSetup_x64

Did not worked for us, what worked is to start the .exe directly in the game/demo folder.
