I was able to play but I had uninstalled the game and now on the store page it says in green I own it and I can click "Play Now" it should then install but nothing happens. I'm not seeing it on my Steam library but it is rather large--searching for it doesn't work though.
Did you download the game while it was accidentally free? That doesn't count as a purchase.
1 - Did you first download the game for free on Tuesday (when a snafu caused it to initially release without need to purchase any tier to play), or did you buy a tier first and then start playing? I'm wondering if the timing had anything to do with this.
As Satoru said, if you grabbed it for free initially that issue has been corrected and you will need to purchase one of the tiers in order to get access to test/play.
2 - Have you fully restarted the Steam client and tried again? How about logged out and back in (by either going Offline or using Switch User)? Restarted your computer?
3 - Can you browse to where Steam would install the game and see if it's there? It may not have been uninstalled completely and causing Steam to think it's still around. If so, please delete the whole Line of Defense folder, reboot and try installing through Steam again.
x86 Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Line of Defense\
x64 Windows:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Line of Defense\
F:\w7 SSD Programs\Steam\SteamApps\common\Line of Defense
all I have there is the config file.
Alright, looks like it is because of the pricing "error". I noticed it is still listed as free to play, easy fix perhaps intentionally left that way. (See "Sins of a Dark Age" it will be free to play upon release but is not listed as such at this time, since it is not currently free to play.)
I'll keep an eye on it and see when it can be played again. I've lost several hundred over the past few years from early access games that stop being developed. Now I wait until I can thoroughly play it before dumping money into it.
Thanks for the quick responses.
Yeah, I just checked his entitlement. That's exactly what happened here.
@comp9, sorry about that; was out of our control
I didn't put in that category though. I'll check the SteamWorks settings tomorrow just to make sure. Thanks for pointing that out.
