Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos

Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos

Lots of Feedback Fun! Has potential to be great!
The A button on my Xbox Controller only seems to work as the Arrow Down action. Trying all kinds of different options and profiles does not work. Forced to play KBM, would prefer to play with controller, please fix.

The game is fun, but the single drum beat soundtrack is grinding, would be great to get some other BGM...nearly anything would be better.

Item pickups in Floor 1 seem to be really hit or miss, either very scarce, or very low.

Gold grinding seems like drop rates are too low, or items are priced too high. After 10 runs I had ~300 gold, most good items are 600-1200 gold in the shop.

Love the gearing and item buildouts, but they seem to not be very obvious or impactful in their effect. Even with two legendaries equipped, and all gold items, I feel only 10% more powerful.

Movement is very slow.
No options to skip pickups, reroll, or banish.
Once I select a PowerUp I would expect it's occurance rate to be higher and see it more often, doesn't seem to be the case.

Hitbox seems really tight, I get hit a lot, there is no dodge so being overwhelmed and trying to squeeze between mobs is nearly impossible making death a near certainty when overwhelmed.

AOE attacks feel good.
Health regen seems like a required pickups.
Crtit pickups seems like a must.
Need a dodge.

Mob density spikes really high in plus 8+ runs, should reduce, or provide dodge, or fix hitbox.

Would love to see a feature list and roadmap.

Would love more music.

Attack sound effects for basic and special attacks don't sound impactful.

There is no reason to move around the map other than to avoid enemies, would love to see pickups, or items around the map to encourage more movement and exploration.

Vendor prices seem too high.
Gold drops seem too low value.

Need character sound effects, grunts, wheezes, dialogue...something.

Movement in town is painfully slow.

It has a lot of potential and I like it overall, but the lack of controller function, slow movement speed, mob density issues, and other things noted above leave a lot of room for improvement.

I'll come back when I see plans for the full release, along with how communicative you are with the community and what plans you have to respond to player feedback.

huh, wanted to give some feedback, but you sir have nailed them all.
Agree w/ OP on pretty much every point. One thing I'd add is that it's frankly pretty annoying that we're forced to sell of all extra equipment before doing another run. With, what I'm presuming, the stash being locked in the Demo there's absolutely zero way to save gear to try out different builds.

That aside, I truly enjoy the game thus far and think w/ a little tweaking that you crazy bastards may have a future hit on your hands.

Still no response from the devs on any of the posts I've seen...that doesn't bode well for the long-term health of this game so far.

what do you need A for? i only use it in town for gearing and interaction. normal atk is rb. it just doesn't get used in fighting?

sounds like an issue with your controller? (i'm using xbox x/s controller, wired)

dont spread crap bs, people have lives and they aren't trolling the forums daily, get over yourself
I'm using a PS5 Dual Sense Edge controller and don't have any issues at all. If you have a "pro" variant of either PS5 or Xbox controller, you need to use a data rated USB cable to connect it to your PC or you'll have issues with any game. And if I'm using a Sony controller on PC with this without a single problem and it's connected correctly, it's 100% fine.

Devs being highly engaged during demo release on Discussions is not unusual and it's not about me, but the game and the support. I tend to find that devs that are active in Discussion threads tend to bode well for the long term state of the games support and development. Take Witchfire for exmaple, devs are ALWAYS in the forums, there's plenty of reason to care about the kind of feedback loop that exists within the community that has nothing to do with my ego.

Aside from the fact you don't agree that having devs active in the community being an indicator of a game's potential success, what do you think about the actual feedback I left? If you want to focus on anything, how about the game and the feelings of those within the community who are trying to help provide feedback to make it better?

If you can't even be bothered to show your face on the forum set up explicitly set up for feedback, sort of suggests something is going wrong.
