I loved frost fang but that 25 damage is a killer, now I hunt for Feathered Ice on every run so i can use a more powerful weapon like the huge hammer!
I think the Shieldbreaker might be bugged btw, used it today with the Headsman blessing and didn't get any health on kill. IMO it needs a buff, too, it's a bit weak at the moment, even with the Headsman blessing.
In real life most/many lizards are cold blooded and need to be in the sun to avoid freezing to death.
and speaking of which, blood crecent may be the most powerful weapon in the game, especially when paired with the really big shield that knocks enemies over with a shield bash. one-two combo for pretty much everyting in th game! with one shots ready for bosses.
only downside to both of these weapons is the low damage. if you are low on life blood crescent becomes much less good (no super move and floor finishing takes long enough you sometimes get hit). and frost fang just chipps away at your opponants so without the combo sometimes its not fast enough to deal with big mobs of harder enemies.
otherwise thunderstrike seems to be the best ive found, or maybe the battlehammer, its hard to tell which is better. they both do a lot of damage and have a nice aoe attack. hammer does more overall damage, but thunderstrike also seems to do dot as well? they're both pretty badass.
wow this thread is getting old :D
But yeah, All good weapons overall. However while Cresent and Frostfang are superb weapons
Early and mid game, I feel they comes a bit short when your getting really late game.... Here I allways aim for Dragon or Thunderstrike, as you said they do Dot indeed.
I'm picking Thunderstrike over the Battle hammer because of it's speed and dot though, the BH is just to slow IMHO.
My gloves of choice aswell unless I suddently should end up with full dragon. (Not easy)
Dont worry to much about the dragon set, while the sword is awsome to ramp up some sweet comboes, as it's darn fast / low damage. But the huge benifit is the burning dot.
The rest of the set is kind of just OK unles you actuallly manage to collect all the pices in a endless run, where you will be pretty OP untill you hit a suprice Portal and lose a pice forever :p
- Desperate measures is great for the unexpected encounters, it really pairs well with high skill since it could be a minor mistake or two that suddenly costs you alot of health, good skill can then capitolize on a minor mistake to dish out insane carnage, its also great for the devils wager encounter since you are put to next to nothing for health.
- Frost Fang slows people it hits, and can freeze em solid, the extra synergy against scales is also a very desirable trait, overall good sword with no real downside, except maybe for its somewhat lacking damage.
- Rat Cleaver is the best axe, no matter how you look at it the Rat Cleaver allows you to dish out crazy amounts of damage to the plauge suit, and since it counts as an axe headmans blessing will kickin, it also has decent damage and a weapon ability, if you want an axe this is the one to pick.
- Skeleton Kings sword is a supreme weapon when paired with gear that activates upon recieving damage, granted merely striking an opponents shield counts as recieving damage so if any opponents are shielded such as scales then its somewhat redundant, in general though the health steal can help mitigate some of the damage taken from combat, making rush strategies more effective since detours for healing arent as necesary.
- Blood Cresent is crazy powerful, trading health for instant kills on extremely dangerous foes is more then worth it, and instantly slaying downed foes can greatly reduce the time you take in combat, it happens to pair very well with the big shield for just that reason, however the fact that it takes such a large chunk of health makes it dangerous to use at lower levels of max health and with poor healing abilities, so it takes some investment to really make this item go far.
Blood Cresent would be my favorite overall, with a "win now" button so to speak and a very powerful synergy with high skill play AND the big shield, it speaks to me as the weapon that says "♥♥♥♥ you, ♥♥♥♥ your shoes, ♥♥♥♥ your hair-do, ♥♥♥♥ the guy who sired you, ♥♥♥♥ your boss and ♥♥♥♥ this, im winning right now no matter the cost" if i could say that in a... less vulgar way i would, but i cant think anyway that expresses it right.
Rats are my biggest problem because they keep attacking, but if i have the rat cleaver and a speed buff then 16 of them are no match
