Hand of Fate
Best gear combo...?
What do you think is the best gear combo? I got enormouse shield equipped with heavy armor immovable object equipped, couple with battle hammer and helm of reflection. Virtually indestructible when i go into battle, easily down a battle of 3 golems with 6 scales and 1 minotaur with barely a dent on the armor.

Enormous Shield and the Dragon Sword/Blood Cresent is very powerful against normal enemies as a stun knocks them to the ground and both of the swords have finisher allowing for two hit kills.
Pairing with that Armor of the Watcher for immunity, Mage Gloves for potential kills, and Angel Wings to undo your speed debuff

On Warlord vs the Dealer I gennerally try to get the Mithril Armor, Dragons Shield, Dragons Tongue or Thunderstrike, Hag's Wraps for the final battle, Helm isent really a big deal. My favorite is probably Plunderers cap. But i generally switch hats as i need them, Plunderer gives you soooo much more from Gain Cards, and as you cant get Blessings during this story, you really depend on lot's of gold for getting rid of Curses and grabbing the gear you want + as many rings as possible before you face the final battle. (And it got great Synergy with the deck you build for this "Story", as any event card or Equipment card that gives or benifits from Blessing/s is usless, you do end up with thons of Gain Event cards)

I like the Enormus shield/Cresent combo Early in Endless mode, I Only got the sword in my constructed deck however, mainly because in Story mode vs Dealer you will meet plenty of "Maces" with Traps, and the Enormus Shield or heavy armor makes the character way to slow to avoid taking a lot of damage in those.

In Endless Mode, I generally prefer a pretty similar setup, keeping tabs on the full drragon set (Darn acivement didnt register for me), but other than that I ditch Heavy armor and the E Shield pretty early as it makes the character way to slow to avoid damage and getting the combo meeter running. Only thing better than taking reduced damage is taking no damage right?
(Besides Heavy Armor makes it inpossible to sucsessfully pass the "River" Card that frequently spawn in Endless, Or to Escape "The Crucible" Card without doing 3 fights for 1 gold or paying the Mayor.)

I generally also drop maces pretty fast for the same reson, but I do got a sweet spot for Thunderstrike because of the sweet AOE with the lightning DOT, I do run with the 40 damage "Enormus?" Hammer you get as a reward from the ore now and then, but my runs seems to fail early with it as it's way to slow. Other than that I equip anything that can earn me thons of gold/Equipment/Food early game like plunderers cap, Assasins Greed and gain rings, and gennerally dont equip Mage gloves or hags wraps before fights are getting harder.

However I never sell anything if I dont really need to, there is to many suprise portals/Drop equipment cards + Reduce gold/Food % cards in the game, so It does not make sense not to keep it as Backup. (It allways makes you think you got the worst luck in the world, but its garanteed to happen every good run!) If you want to get far you have to go with the Murphy's Law attitude :p

I recently figured out that every time the score passes 100.000 I get the "Draw a curse for evry ring Equppied" Curse, witch is insta death :p, at that point you probably got around 10-20 Rings :p, next time I get close to my High score I will get rid of all the rings I dont Really need :p
(At this point the events are becoming more difficult aswell ,and you will see new ones)

As this rambeling ended up us a mini Guide, Instead of a "favorite Build" As mine kind of change depending on what stage of the game I am :p, I'll Trow in a last general tip, never FORFIT, My last Warlord run I was down to 1/1 Max HP, Gained +1 max hp for every battle, but lost one Max HP for each food eaten (Ring), Thankfully I had King's ring Chipping off 10% Gold every time I tok a fatal Blow. Thought I was done for, as the next card did not have a cobat option!, but it did reward me 10 food!!! = +10 max HP, wich in turn got me to the closest shop. Got my HP Pool back up and did a great run in the end, Ended up at 13'th place globally (At the writing moment), Pretty happy with that :D

Well just my 5 cents :p, Ended up as a wall of text :p
Please dont complain about my spelling, to tired to go auto correct now lol.

i prefer gear which offers easier times out of combat, such as revealing adventure cards, redrawing monsters, gaining gold/hp etc.
In combat the only combo i find worthy trying to care about is dragon helm + shield/sword for permanent double damage.

I don't really have a favorite. There are a few combos I use quite often, like blood crescent + enormous shield for easy killing, or dragon helmet + dragon sword (or the whole set). Outside combat (which rarely are the problem anyway) I like that helmet that gives more options as reward + some of those blessing that gives more choices. My main favorite I think and a must to get somewhere in endless is clairvoirance helmet + that blessing that makes you retry a draw. You can avoid a lot of nasty stuff with it.

I try to establish a couple of favourite gear builds which depend on the Fates I play. I'll probably gather the courage to turn them into community guides some day. Maybe.

Right now I really like the Oracle's Diadem, whatever fate I play. Seeing every card next to you after each encounter is pretty awesome for avoiding both nasty stuff and food waste. I also agree with fable_feben, clairvoyance helmet + guardian angel is very strong too.

By Fate you play you mean the story mode? Why is everyone there, I wonder? In a day or two I went through those on hard. I'm doing endless now, and well, you easily get all items there after a couple of floors, and I combine them. I often find myself switching every encounter. I end the floor with explorers helmet just so I can see the staircase/whatever it is and then see all the encounters revealed.

After getting on a new floor I run oracles so I can see the encounters I'm running into. After seeing an encounter like dark dweller I equip the right artifact. When seeing something like river or something else with the luck cards I use clairvoyance + guardian angels. When I know I'll get a reward (or at the 9th step after I loaned money) I equip plunderers cap + that blessing for more options. It's constant switches.

By Fates I meant Wildcards, aka classes (i.e. Iron Hunger, etc), or whatever you want to call them, and I play Endless. What you suggest sure is valid with classes than can stock up on equipment, which once you know the game a bit are all in all easy classes, even Warlord. Playing as the Iron Hunger, or better yet, the Nomad (since Iron Hunger gets somewhat easy once you get Metal Ore) brings a whole new challenge, because every Equipment Pain Card is going to hurt very very badly. Ever wondered why the best Nomad player in leaderboards had less than 35k points (well if you don't count the obvious alt-f4er which got past the million points) ? The only thing you can really do is stock up on rings and hope you lose some of those instead of your weapon or your armour, and even then, a bad roll of luck will put you on your knees. That's what I meant when I said my loadout is vastly different from one class to the other. If one tries to play the Nomad the same careless way they can play even the Warlord, I think one has missed something.

Oh, I see. But you have to pay for the wildcards, right? I like this game and I'm thinking about getting those other cards, but the game being so bug filled makes me doubt. Maybe wait til it isn't a bug hell before getting them, even though I love the concept and uniqueness of the game.

I'm still pretty new to the game ^^

Also I like the scoreboards. I was third on the warlord scoreboards (I think I'm #4 now), but I figured: if this already poses no real challenge, then the other wildcards will even be less interesting, as there will be even less players that do that mode.

Well I still strongly recommend the DLC, the devs have been doing an amazing job with it, and it really made the game excellent IMO. I've been bingeing on it lately so my point of view may be biased, but it's really really good, especially for the relatively low price. :)
